The Factory System
The factory system is a method of manufacturing using machinery and division of labor. The first factory in England at the beginning of the Indusrial Revolution in the late 18th century and later spread. It replaced the putting out system.
How workers were treated
Children who worked long hours in the textile mills became very tired and found it hard to maintain the speed and energy required by the overlookers.
