The Bobcat Bulletin
3/June/2022 - News!
From the Principal
Dear FMS Families,
It's hard to believe that the school year is winding down. With the exception of a few hot days, we have been lucky with cooler end-of-year weather, as school buildings can get quite warm.
We enjoyed seeing many of you at open house a couple of weeks ago. It was so refreshing to welcome families back for a quick hello and tour of the building. We saw many proud children leading their families through their school!
Thank you to those who provided feedback to consider in our placement process. We have been working through our placement process, and students will meet their new teacher on Friday, June 10th during "Move-Up Day." We will welcome students from EES who will be starting 3rd grade, current 3rd and 4th graders will meet their new teachers in the building, and our 5th graders will walk across the parking lot to meet their new teaching teams at Essex Middle School. This is an exciting time, but we are all aware that transitions can be challenging and emotional. We are here as a school team for your children, and the support they receive at home is critical as well. Placement letters will be sent home in home folders at the end of next week as well.
The last week of school is full of celebrations and field trips. Each grade level will have a special, fun, community-building experience to remember.
Please remember to reach out at any time. You can expect a final edition of the Bobcat Bulletin during the last week of school, with some end-of-year details!
Sincerely,
Sara Jablonski

School Safety
While you can review our school district safety policies here, below, please see some school-specific safety measures that have been and will continue to be in place:
- All exterior doors are locked and closed at all times.
- All classroom doors are locked at all times, and can be propped open with a magnet system that releases to close all doors in an emergency.
- All staff wear photo ID badges at all times.
- All visitors are buzzed into the building, and are required to sign in and out of the building.
We review safety drills with our students throughout the year. We have a school-based safety team that meets throughout the year to review safety protocols and share information with staff and students.
Please contact Sara Jablonski if you have questions about any of our school safety measures.
