The Together Leader: AP Book Study

All Assistant Principals will be reading The Together Leader: Get Organized for Your Success- and Sanity! by Maia Heyck-Merlin as a book study throughout this year.

AP's are asked to read Chapters 6-8 by November 13 and Chapters 9-11 for January 29. In order to be prepared to discuss the readings at the AP meeting, please consider the following:

  • What routines have you established to maintain balance in your schedule?

  • How have you used Thought Catchers or Later Lists to organize yourself?

  • What practices have you tried to make your e-mail system more organized?

Teacher Leadership Book Studies

Did you know that we are offering Teacher Leadership Book Studies this year, in addition to the Teacher Leadership Academy and the Aspiring Administrator Academy. The book studies are open to all teachers in the district. The book is purchased for them if they sign up for the book study, and they are paid 2 hours of extra duty pay to attend the book study discussion.

Talk to your staff to see who is involved and feel free to encourage others to get involved! Book Study #1 had 50 participants and we have 75 signed up for #2! These are great books to add to your reading list as well, as you work to build capacity of teachers.
