13th amendment
No person in the united states can be kept as a slave. No person can be forced to work for someone else except as a legal for a crime
14th amendment
all Americans including former slaves have the right to be treated as a citizen. Also it deals with other questions that arose because the civil war. For instance it prevents people from being elected to office who have rebelled against the united states. Also says that the federal government not responsible for confederate debts.
15th amendment
States cannot deny anyone the right to vote simply because of the persons race or color, or because the person used to be a slave.
how did the 13th,14th,and15th amendments effect former slaves in the south
these amendments sat that any slave in the country are no longer slaves and is going to be treated like a person who wasn't a slave this is because these amendments say no slavery in the united states the slaves have the right to be treated as a citizen and are allowed to vote
If you were part of the congress at that time what other law would you design to protect the former slaves
If i were part part of the congress i would make the law of all slaves should be treated fairly and if you miss treated the slaves you would go to jail
