Hampton Bays Middle School
Monday Memo #11
Priorities
Dear T.E.A.M. :
It's hard to believe that it's already November! Thank you for making our first two months of school together exceptional.
Last week, Anthony and I had the privilege to meet with our PTO in a classroom in the 5th grade pod. We had a great night of conversation! We learned more about what parents of middle schoolers need to feel successful. We also had the chance to discuss some of our projects we are working on together, so our students can have the best years possible, in middle school. And we were able to share, with our parents, our focus on our school's three priorities this year:
- Communication
- Collaboration
- Learning
This week's Monday Memo, our tenth this school year, contains lots of information that's worth spending some time reflecting upon. You are also encouraged to scroll through September's and October's We Are HBMS! slideshows below.
During our PTO Meeting, we acknowledged to our parents that we know they are busy people, and that it's always encouraging to see when parents are willing and able to give some of their time to learn more about their children's school program.
This is not unlike dedicated teachers.
So to save you some time this week, you will see below, I've limited our articles and included links to the first nine Bulletins from this year. If you are interested in seeing what is sent to the parents each week, please visit our school website or click the following link:

For anyone who is not already doing so, you should know that you can also receive these Parent Express Bulletins weekly by subscribing to the PTO PEX email blasts.
One of my consistent takeaways when I visit with PTO or meet with individual parents is that am grateful for the feedback that is shared. It challenges me to keep our team focused on being great for our students. To those of you who have shared feedback and have contributed resources, thank you. And for anyone else who hasn't done so, you are invited and encouraged to share what you are reading. This helps us to share resources that can support individual and groups of students. As the saying goes, Together Everyone Achieves More.
Thank you for your dedication to our students and our middle school program.
Sincerely,
Dennis
