Manor Schoolhouse Foundation was honored to award Manor Senior High School Principal Jessika Hearne a $5,000 Opportunity Grant for the Monica Lewis School of Etiquette, a premier service that provides top-notch training in all aspects of etiquette, protocol, and manners. Manor ISD #itmatters This unique "traveling classroom" approach and innovative styles of teaching will transform the social skills of the youth. Etiquette is a part of daily life in both public and private affairs and helps to build confidence and promote better interpersonal relationships. She's also really organized and genuinely cares about her students and their progress -- she works really hard and deserves to be recognized.

Ever since she arrived on the scene(last year), she has shown an eagerness to learn and implement new ideas, the ability to communicate in meetings tactfully, and a passion to continue to improve her teaching methods to meet the needs of her students. • Because she is the best at her craft. I wouldn't want to take on her role. She is a superstar, and the best Front Desk Receptionist I know.
• Mrs. Calderon is always so friendly to staff, students, and visitors. She has her hands full at that front desk every day, from phone calls to tardy students & late shuttles to roaming students, she gives her all to help ensure our days are successful here at MSH
• Ms. Calderon is the front line of our school in many situations and deals with many, many fires (probably more than we know of!) and handles them with grace and kindness.

The mandatory tutoring required for students under House Bill 4545 states that students are to be in a group of no more than three students per one tutor. Manor ISD is asking you to provide permission for your student to receive tutoring in a group that is larger than three students. MISD is limited in providing sessions smaller than three students during the school day due to limited staffing. Please submit a separate survey for each scholar enrolled in grades 4-12.

For the safety of all students, we have made a few changes to our restroom procedures. At MSHS, restroom doors will be locked during lunch, all transitions, and during the first and last ten minutes of class. Only one floor will have an open restroom per period, in which that particular restroom will be monitored by a team member. Thank you for your understanding. Thank you for all that you do!

Dress Code Expectations:

• No rips or holes in clothing showing skin.
• No midriff shirts/blouses or bare shoulders.
• No sagging pants (pockets of pants should be on the buttocks).
• No short shorts or skirts (cannot be more than 6 inches from knee).
• No see-through clothing or revealing necklines.
• No tube tops or spaghetti straps.
• No caps, hoodies, beanie, bandannas, sunglasses.
• No flip-flops, house slippers, or slides (shoes must have back support).
• No clothing with sexual content, drugs, alcohol or tobacco.
• Leggings, jeggings and yoga pants/shorts alone are not acceptable.
• Students out of dress code will be provided with borrowed clothes to change into and a call to parents will be made.

Closed Campus

• Students are NOT permitted to leave the campus for lunch.
• No outside food/drinks allowed during school hours unless approved by an Administrator.
• Only vehicles with a valid MSHS or MISD parking permit are authorized to park at MSHS.
• Vehicles not registered with the school, will be towed at the vehicle owner’s expense.
• Student drivers must provide a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance to purchase a parking permit.
• Parking Permits must be displayed while on school campus.
• Student drivers are not permitted to drive other students unless a permission form is on file.
• Student drivers are only allowed to leave for a scheduled class at MHS, ACC or early release.
• Students leaving campus are required to sign in/sign out at the front office.
• ALL student drivers must follow safe driving rules on Manor ISD Campus Grounds. No speeding, racing or loud music.

RESPECT

• At Manor Senior High School, we practice common decency. Students are expected to have respect for themselves and others at MSHS and at district events and facilities.
• The use of foul-vulgar language is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
• Students are to keep their hands to themselves.
• Maintain personal space in the hallways and classrooms
• MISD has a zero tolerance for fighting on campus
• MISD has a zero tolerance for bullying (this includes cyberbullying on social media).

Attendance

• Attendance matters – Everyone must be in school to be counted present! If students are not in attendance at school everyday, they will miss quality instruction, which will impact their ability to graduate on time. Parents/Guardians of students with excessive absences will be contacted for a meeting to resolve this area of concern.

We need our Manor Senior High School scholars present in all of their classes, on time everyday. Our teachers miss their beautiful faces, and work extremely hard to prepare high quality lessons for them, that are conducive to high student achievement. Their success is our success!
