One Week to Halloween
Current Injured Reserve List:
Two staff underwent surgery late last week and are recovering (Chrissy Casper and Nikki Bihn). We will get cards and wish them the best as they recover.
Karen Wilson is still in hospital. We are in touch with her and she is keeping us posted. Please see Kerry for more information.
Joao Parreira and Dave MacKinnon are still out recovering.
Soon to come off IR: Stacy texted that her doctor's appointment went well and she is cleared to return November 13th!
Don't forget to get your flu shot!
Let's have a great week!
Quick Update: PSAT, #sonomastrong, Homecoming, and more...
Just a quick update on a few items:
PSAT - Wednesday, October 25th: Because we have missed a week of school, we have decided we will NOT use a late start on Wednesday. Instead, it will be school as usual with Zero period. For those students sitting for the PSAT, there will be three testing areas - the gym, the library, and F15/F16. Please watch the walls in the main hallway, in counseling, and in the SAC for lists detailing where each PSAT tester should report to. PSAT students should arrive at 7:45am and go straight to his or her assigned test area. PSAT will run for the first two periods of the day.
#SonomaStrong - Last Thursday, our freshman football team hosted Cardinal Newman at the Casa field. As you know, Cardinal Newman High School suffered significant damage due to the Tubbs Fire. The campus is not currently operational and the administration is hard at work creating satellite campuses for students and using online curriculum to keep instruction going. In addition, almost 100 CN families lost their homes in the fire. As you might expect, PHS families are rallying to their aid. There was no admission for last Thursday's game; instead, we collected more than $2000 in gift cards that evening. What was more moving perhaps was the wonderful camaraderie between our common families. Though we may compete on the field and in the classroom, we are all working toward brighter futures for all our students and families.
We presented the cards to Cardinal Newman Principal Graeme Rutherford this weekend for distribution by counselors to families in need. One more reminder of the strength of our Sonoma County community. Thank you, PHS Athletics!
Homecoming Redux - Our ASB class is working on an alternate Homecoming celebration, aiming toward next week. More information to come on this as they put it together. The Homecoming Dance has been rescheduled to Saturday, November 4th. Previously purchased tickets are good for that evening. Watch for more details to follow.
Financial Aid Week - It's Financial Aid Week! First, if you have a senior, you and your child should fill out the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Our counseling staff can help! On Monday, we will hold a Financial Aid Rally in the morning; on Wednesday, 10/25, we invite you to our Ca$h for College Night at 6PM at PHS. Come and learn where you can apply and find resources for post-secondary education!
Have a great week!
