The CHISD Curriculum, Instruction, and Accountability Team will be hosting a two-day mini-conference on June 14 & 15 at the new Professional Development Center.

Beyond the Brick and Mortar with FriEdTechnology!

Google and FriEdTechnology are bringing CHISD a unique learning opportunity. Beyond the Brick and Mortar is a 12-hour online course that we are offering combined with two live webinars from FriEdTechnology.


Seats are limited. If you are interested in being a part of this learning cohort, please complete the form below. Please note that completing the form does not guarantee you a seat. Open seats will be filled on a first-come basis and you will be notified in early May with more details about the learning opportunity. Teacher Expectations -

  • Attend Launch Webinar Virtual (May 27th, 3:30 pm-5:00 pm)

  • Complete online course work and work material over the summer (June 1 - July 31)

  • Create and share resources throughout the course as part of the cohort

  • Attend Closing Webinar Virtual (August 2nd, 10:00-11:30 am )

  • Share and present knowledge learned to campus at a staff meeting by August 31, 2021

  • Employed in Cedar Hill for the 21-22 school year.


Additionally, Teachers will receive 20 hours of PD credit for completion of the course.

IXL Webinars

Whether you're new to the program or a seasoned veteran, our complimentary webinars will help you get the most out of IXL. Join any of these 30 minute sessions hosted by our Professional Learning team to take your IXL usage to the next level.


Register on the IXL website and add the event to Edugence once you get your certificate of attendance to recieve credit.

Professional Development Expectations and Norms

Prepare yourself and your space
  • Have devices fully charged and make sure you have the chargers to those devices close by if you need them.

  • A second screen or device is strongly recommended for all virtual sessions.

  • Notepad and pen for taking notes

  • Make sure your space is free of distractions. Know what’s behind you!

Meeting Norms
  • Be on time - this means logging into the session 5-10 minutes prior to the start of the session

  • Mute your mic and check your camera and view before joining the meeting

  • Use the Chat. If you have questions, please use the chat feature. Please do not unmute and interrupt the presenter. They will offer time for Q&A.

  • Be Engaged! You will be responsible for your learning and expected to apply your new learning.
