solubility lab

purpose and procedure
THE PURPOSE OF THIS LAB WAS TO TEST THE SOLUBILITY OF 4 DIFFERENT SUBSTANCE. A SUBSTANCE IS SOLUBLE IF IT DISSOLVES IN WATER.
Step 1: put the baking soda in the water of cup
Step 2: take picture of cup
step 3: stir the baking soda in the cup for about 1 minute
step 4:we took an after picture
step 5:we repeat the step 1-4 for the next 3 substance
BAKING SODA BEFORE
THE BAKING SODA HAD SAT ON TOP.
BAKING SODA AFTER
the water is clear and you couldn't see baking soda. yes it was dissolved.
flour before
the flour had sat on the in the middle of the cup.
flour after
the water had look like milk. no it did not dissolved in water.
powered sugar before
the powered sugar had sat on the bottom of the cup.
powered sugar after
the water was foggy and you couldn't see it. yes it dissolved
in water.
table salt before
the table salt had look like salt water.
table salt after
the water was not clear. yes dissolved in in water.
Conclusion
The substances that were soluble were the baking soda, powdered sugar and table salt. I know these were soluble because it had dissolved in the water. the substances that wasn't soluble was the flour. i know it wasn't soluble because it didn't dissolved in water.
