Foussat Weekly Happenings

Good Evening Foussat Families,
I hope that everyone had an enjoyable and restful day yesterday as we paid tribute to all of our armed forces on Veteran's Day. This day is always a little more special to us since Camp Pendleton is a large part of our community. Thank you to all our servicemen and women! The news and updates for the week...
- If you have driven by Foussat lately you might have noticed that the playground structure is not accessible to students. Some cracks have developed over time that now make it unsafe for students to use. I don't know if we will be getting a new play structure or if the one we have will be repaired. During recess students are now using the play area on the other side of the playground. Also, the playground will no longer be accessible to the community until the structure has been fixed.
- When we return to school on November 29th students will begin the second iReady assessment. If you remember from last year when students were at home, this is a diagnostic tool that is administered three time a year to help us keep track of the progress students are making. Our teachers recently participated in some iReady professional development that will help them use this program to better address the needs of all our students.
- Our next School Site Council meeting will be on November 18 at 3:45. This meeting is open to all of our school community members, the link for the meeting is on our website.
- School will be closed November 22nd - 26th for Thanksgiving break. During break please encourage your student/s to use the online instructional programs we have purchased. Students have access to these through their Rapid ID portal. If you have any questions about this you please contact their teacher.
That's all for now, have a great weekend, stay safe and don't forget to spend some time reading as a family and tell your children how much you love and appreciate them!
