Region 15 Education Service Center
Weekly Newsletter - February 3, 2020
Good Morning,
I truly hope you all have the districts you wanted to be apart of for the next two years. It becomes a family of sorts and we all have that one family member that makes things interesting during the holidays.
We have been asked by TEA and other state agencies to keep them informed of flu related closures, so if you have any closures related to the flu please let me know so I can report.
Also as you are working on your calendars, please share with me so I can share with the other districts in the region. It is helpful to know what the area schools are doing when building a calendar (spring break, start of the year, etc.).
Please remember that we will have our TASA meeting at ASU this month. February 13th at 9:30 am, it is a little different time and location. If you have not already sent your RSVP to Paula please do so asap.
The weather seems like it may be a little rough this Wednesday, so I will keep track of weather related information. If you send it, I will share with the other superintendents.
Thank you,
Casey Callahan, Ed.D.

Participate in Survey on School Mental Health
The University of Texas at Austin, in collaboration with the Health and Human Services Commission and Texas Education Agency, is conducting a survey of school nurses, counselors, psychologists, or administrators who are knowledgeable about their school’s approach to addressing student mental health. The survey gathers information about current school-based mental health resources and practices in Texas. Survey findings will help inform state agencies that are planning mental health resources for school-aged youth throughout Texas. Access the survey. The survey will be available through Feb. 14, 2020.
