Cinco De Mayo

What is cinco de mayo
It is to commemorate the Mexican Army's victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. In the United States, Cinco de Mayo is sometimes mistaken to be Mexico's Independence Day. In the United States Cinco de Mayo has evolved into a celebration of Mexican culture and heritage, particularly in areas with large Mexican-American populations. Cinco de Mayo traditions include parades, mariachi music performances and street festivals in cities and towns across Mexico and the United States

What I learned and would I celebrate it
I learned Cinco De Mayo is used to celebrate a Mexican war victory and not it's independence. I wouldn't celebrate Cinco De Mayo for a few reasons. Its not part of my family's culture, it's not celebrated for the correct reason in the US, and it has no real impact on our lives.
