Dear Parents,

For our field trips on May 14th and 15th, parent volunteers are welcome. If any parent would like to attend the field trips, please be mindful that you must meet LSLA at the field trip destination. You are responsible for paying your own entrance along with any expenses. While on the field trip all students must remain with their class and designated chaperons. There will be times that you may not be with your child due to certain labs and hand-on-experiments that where paid and reserved for ahead of time. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Ms. Carrera at pcarrera@lonestartx.org

Words from Ms. Weaver

Can you believe we are in the last weeks of school? We have had a fantastic first year and we have enjoyed every moment with your children. The next few weeks are filled with both academic testing and fun-filled events. We have Teacher Appreciation Week, May 7-11. Please feel free to participate and send in items from the list sent home to show your appreciation to our dedicated and hard-working faculty.

Our field trips are just around the corner. We are very excited to go to the zoo and museum. Students have been told if they do not follow the school code of conduct they may not be able to attend the field trip and/or Field Day. Please encourage your child to be Respectful, be Responsible and be Safe. We want all students to participate and have fun.

If you are attending the field trips we are excited to have you join. Just a few things to mention. Students must remain with their assigned group on the field trip. Students must use school transportation to and from the field trips. We ask you not to remove your child from school upon arriving back from the field trip as our 3rd-grade students are taking the STAAR test and we would like to protect the testing environment by keeping noise to a minimum. STAAR testing for 3rd grade is May 14th & May 15th, MAPS testing will take place for K-2 after the field trips. 3rd grade will MAPS test a week after STAAR.

We are currently looking for parent volunteers for field day. We are limiting it to 2 volunteers per class.

Please check the school website for times and location of our awards ceremonies and Kindergarten Graduation.

Remember we have our BBQ on June 3rd and this will give returning families the opportunity to meet our new families.

It has been an honor to serve your children and we look forward to next year as we expand and grow both in size and in academic achievement. Please continue to tell friends and family about our school; increasing our enrollment gives us the opportunity to increase our programs and offerings.

Warmest regards,

Staci Weaver
