Message from Mrs. Gerletti

It is hard to believe that we've been in school for nearly six weeks. Our students are settled into their routines and growing in their learning.

As a reminder, our doors open at 8:25 am. Students may eat breakfast at school if necessary before going to class. Instruction begins at 8:45 am. If your child is a car rider, please drop them off in time to grab breakfast (if needed), walk to their classroom, and unpack their backpack, with enough time to be in their seat by 8:45 am. We want all students to start their day calmly, and arriving late to class can create unnecessary stress for them. Beginning with the second grading period, October 25, students who arrive after 8:45 am will be counted as tardy.

We continue to work with transportation to make sure they are aware of buses that are arriving late (before and after school). Thank you for your patience if your child has been affected by transportation issues. Our district moved to a "4-tier" system, and we've had some growing pains, but things are improving overall.

I hope you'll look through the calendar events and choose some of the upcoming events to attend (Family Nights at the book fair, Holiday Shop, Bingo Night, or the Fun Run).

How to Track Your Child's Bus

Until the buses establish a pattern, we typically send text messages to let parents know when their child's bus has left Robison. It is a cumbersome task to send separate messages for each bus through School Messenger. Now that our buses have established a pattern, we are no longer sending text messages. One way to stay in the loop with your child's arrival and dismissal times is to register for Zonar.
  • CFISD parents can sign up to receive notifications when their student enters or exits the bus using their RFID-enabled ID card. The parent portal is free of charge to all CFISD parents.

Library News

Big picture

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! I am Ms. Wolfe for those of you who may be new to our wonderful school, I am your librarian, and excited about this school year!

A few things are coming our way real soon!

Library Birthday Book Club-It’s a tradition at Robison. I hope you will participate in this great program where kids love to select their own book and see their nameplate inside it. It is a wonderful way to help your child realize the importance of reading and they will leave a gift to Robison for years to come. The cost is $15 PLEASE use SCHOOL CASH as the form of payment. More information will be sent out in the next 2 weeks.

Scholastic Book Fair is around the corner! Great childhood memories are created by visiting the book fair and purchasing their own books. Most books are paperbacks and reading is truly a superpower: it builds problem-solving skills, imagination empathy, vocabulary, and much more. If you are interested in volunteering, please email emerson.wolfe@cfisd.net, or a signup Genuis will be going out soon from your PTO. Our fair starts Sept. 30th and runs until October 7th at noon. Family night will take place October 4th from 4:30 to 7 PM, parents may bring their child/ren to shop for books together!

Student Birthdays

Student birthdays are recognized on our daily announcement slides.

If you'd like to have your child's birthday celebrated at school, we offer parents the opportunity to purchase ice cream ($1.00) or cookies ($.50) from the cafeteria to be distributed to their child's class during lunch. In order for our cafeteria to prepare for this, you must give at least one week's notice. You may email michelle.mendiola@cfisd.net if you are interested.

We are unable to allow students to hand out birthday invitations at school, or to hand out birthday treats in the classrooms.
