Howdy Hounds!
Wow! What an amazing week to be a Hound! We started off by celebrating House of Courage (Red House) for winning the Dollar Drive in support of the Lamar Educational Awards Foundation. All students in the House of Courage have won a special extra recess that will take place on Monday. Because of your generosity, we raised almost $500 to support L.E.A.F.
We are absolutely BLOWN AWAY by the participation in our Hound Hustle! It FOUR DAYS, we have raised over $20,000! It has been so much fun to see our kiddos earn their prizes as a grade level and class. Our Hound Hustle Moms have been making their rounds, passing out prizes...and be sure to check out the pictures below of a certain unicorn that was spotted in the hallways today!
Our third, fourth, and fifth graders have been working so hard at STAAR camp these past 10 days. We could not be more proud of their dedication to learning and overall work ethic. On Monday, we will kick off our first ever STAAR Carnival! We are encouraging are third, fourth, and fifth grade students to dress in their best western wear as we gear up for a good time!
Speaking of STAAR, please remember that our campus will be closed to visitors on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Be sure to review the STAAR Testing schedule below. It is essential that our students are present and on time, as we will be getting started right away. Please be sure your hound gets a good night's sleep and eats a good breakfast, so they are focused and ready for testing.
If you have a child that attends Cranium Club from 7:00am-7:30am, please note that we will not have groups this week due to STAAR testing. Please utilize the primary car rider drop off for morning arrival.
We want to extend our sincerest thank you for Teacher Appreciation Week. I may be biased, but I believe that we have some of the best educators in the world, and I wake up thankful to work alongside them each day. We love your kids so much, and the dedication of our staff shows every day. Thank you for recognizing that and being such a community of support.
We hope you have a wonderful weekend and a beautiful Mother's Day.
Sincerely,
Bethany Cunningham
Principal

School Meals...
Lamar CISD has announced its participation in the Seamless Summer Option for the 2021-2022 school year, offering healthy meals every school day to all students at no cost.
Typically, a student’s household must meet income eligibility requirements to qualify for free or reduced-price meals. However, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) issued guidance that allows schools to offer meals to all students at no cost for the 2021-2022 school year.
While no application or eligibility determination is required for our students to receive free meals this school year, income eligibility requirements will likely resume in the 2022-2023 school year.
Extra lunch entrees and a la carte items are not included with the no cost meals.
