Buddy Bench
Student Council is raising money for a Buddy Bench for our playground. Students will have the opportunity to use the Buddy Bench to signal that they want to join in group fun at recess. There are 3 rules to the Buddy Bench: Only sit on the bench if you need someone to play with or need a friend. If you see someone sitting on the bench, talk to them invite them to play. If you are sitting on the bench and someone invites you to play, say "Yes". You can donate to help us get our bench at this link. Every little bit helps!

Illinois Science Assessment
Students in grade five, grade eight, and high school Biology 1 will take the Illinois Science Assessment (ISA) again this year. The federal government mandates that all states administer a science assessment to students once during each grade span (elementary, middle school, and high school).
Students will take the test online, and it is designed to be completed in less than an hour.
Our school will administer ISA to 5th grade students on April 25, 2018.
If you have further questions, please feel free to contact me.
Thank you for your support!

CULTURE FEST 2018

Ask any Lowell student what one of their favorite days of the year at Lowell is.......and they will say Discovery Day!
Discovery Day will take place on Tuesday, June 5th this year and plans are underway! Discovery Day is held during the last week of school and it is an opportunity for our students to grow, stretch, learn, discover, and try activities by introducing them to new and unique learning opportunities. During the morning of Discovery Day, students will participate in three activities. Discovery Day is a collaborative effort made up of parent/family volunteers, teachers, staff and some outside vendors. We need leaders, co-leaders, assistants, and helpers to make this day a success! How can you help now? Start thinking about the following:
- Do you have a hobby, talent or special interest you would like to share with the students?
- Do you have a friend or friends you would like to work with on a fun activity?
- Do you have a relationship with a person or business that might be able to lead an activity?
- Do you want to be part of a really fun morning at Lowell?
Please join us! All are welcome and appreciated! Volunteer sign up sheets will be sent home after spring break but please start thinking about how you might like to help now! If you have any questions, please contact Barbara Razzino @ babsrazz@mac.com.
We thank you for not double parking on Illinois, in the car line, and in the surrounding neighborhood during arrival and dismissal to keep the children safe. Car riders should remain indoors until they are called; they should not be on the playground. We also thank all families for crossing Illinois Street at the corner. Safety for the children is our top priority!
