Parenting in Challenging Times: Anxiety, Stress and Your Child
If you are a parent, you might have heard your child say, “I am so stressed out." You might have seen them overwhelmed, anxious, moody and exhausted. You are likely experiencing your own stress and anxiety about raising a child.
We frequently use the terms "stress" and "anxiety" interchangeably, but children’s stress and anxiety disorders are not one and the same. It is important to understand the difference and to learn the tools that you and your child can use to decrease stress and to manage anxiety. Dr. Jill Rosbrugh, child and adolescent psychiatrist from Parkville, unpacks the different faces of childhood worry, talks about the major causes of stress, and shares how to develop healthy and effective skills for handling these normal stressors. You will also learn what signs are red flags for an anxiety disorder and what steps you can take with your child to get help. Whether it is normal stress or an anxiety disorder, it is a big deal to your teen.

Music Group at LA!
Liberty Academy is excited to offer music groups again through the Children's Services Fund! This started late spring and was a hit with a group of our kids at LA. This year, we have the capacity to offer THREE music groups of up to 12 students max in each group.
If your student is interested in checking this group out, please complete the permission slip (click HERE to get it) or have your student bring the permission slip home from school for you to sign.
The first group will meet on September 10th.
Please note: Music group is on a voluntary basis. A permission slip on file does not mean your child will ever be expected or forced to attend.
