1st Quarter Chapel Offering
Mrs. Hines's husband has been called to his eternal home this week. As of this newsletter, the date of the funeral is still pending. That said, this quarter's school chapel offering is still going to to Mrs. Hines to help with the accumulated medical bills.
As of this week we are close to $300. Prayerfully give what you are able to assist her with those expenses.
There has been a GoFundMe page started. Please click here to go to that page to donate. Please feel free to share this link with family and friends.
Thank you and God Bless!!!

The 8th Grade Class
ST JOHN EMMANUEL LUTHERAN SCHOOL
Volunteering at SJE
The Volunteer Scholarship provides a maximum award of $400 per student. Your family may apply for a Volunteer Scholarship for each child in kindergarten through eighth grade to further reduce your final tuition balance. The accumulation of hours begin during the 18-19 school year and are awarded during the 19-20 school year. To qualify for a Volunteer Scholarship, you need to:
Volunteer a minimum of five (5) hours per child.
Complete the required volunteer hours during the previous school year (June 1, 2018 through May 31, 2019) to fulfill the requirements of this scholarship and not for another school purpose (i.e. class trip fundraisers). These hours will count for and be awarded the following school year.
Hours volunteered will be tracked in Renweb and can be seen on your Parentweb page in the service hours section.
**Please note that your volunteer hours this year (18-19) will reduce or eliminate the $400 tuition increase/student set for the 19-20 school year.***
Please go to the SJE website click here (or below) to find out more and look at the list of possible opportunities where you can volunteer. This list is not an all inclusive list, merely a starting point.
I pray that many volunteer to make SJE an even stronger school community where anything is possible.
SJE Community Pasta Dinner
Laura Stoll is the chairperson for this event. This is a great opportunity to get some volunteer hours. We are also looking for donated desserts for the dinner. We are offering 1 volunteer hour for every parent that donates a dessert. If you have any questions or would like to help, please contact Laura at Lstoll@eastnoble.net
We have applied and been approved for one Thrivent Action teams to pay for marketing and still need one to help pay for the food.
As you see this event on social media, please share, forward or whatever necessary to get news out about this event to the community.
Make Sure to Put the Unity Walk on Your Calendar!!
Parents, below is the link for the unity walk t shirts. These shirts are provided by the PTL and need to be filled out for each student. The deadline is Thursday September 6th.
Thank You, Kellie Hartman
The Lutheran SGO for SJE
The SJE endowment fund has been around for some time. It is finally at a point that the school can begin using it. That means more now than ever before. contributions made to this fund, make a difference. Also, at the beginning of this school year, the Lutheran Foundation ties grant funds the school receives to donations made to our endowment. In other words, every dollar donated to the SJE endowment is, one, matched into our endowment and, second is a dollar available for the school via the day school grant. In the past that amount has averaged $23,000 each school year. The funds were used for technology upgrades as well as any other classroom or school needs.
This grant, and the endowment fund have become very valuable to the school. So, please consider giving to our endowment fund so that the school has money to apply for to be used in an upcoming school year and long term from our endowment fund. If you have any questions about the endowment, please contact Axel Gruen in the school office at 260-639-0123 or email to email@example.com.
