Teacher Appreciation Week - Monday, May 4th - Friday, May 8th
Teacher Appreciation Week is coming up on May 4th - 8th! Although we have been away from school for almost 6 weeks, we still want to show our teachers how much we appreciate all their hard work during the school year, especially during this distance learning adventure we’ve all been on. And we have all certainly developed a deep appreciation for what are our teachers deal with day in and day out! Watch out for an email from your parent bear soon on how we can virtually show our SBS teachers all the love and support they deserve.

BRUIN BUSINESS
Bruin Press Survey
We would like to get feedback on this year's newsletter - format, content, timing, or anything else. So we have created a short survey about the newsletter. We ask everyone to please take a few moments to thoughtfully complete the Bruin Press survey.
In addition, this year's editor in chief is the parent of an 8th grader, and will be moving on next year. We will need new volunteers contributing to the newsletter. Do you enjoy writing, editing, and playing with fonts, colors, and backgrounds? Are you a sports fanatic who loves keeping up with Bruins athletics? Do you like to research and write about human interest stories? Bring these talents to the Bruin Press next year. If you are interested in helping out, you will be able to let us know through the survey below:
Invitation to Marian Consecration
During these days of worldwide suffering, we turn confidently to our Heavenly Mother Mary. The month of May is a most fitting time to deepen our trust in God’s protection especially through his Mother. Daily meditations and prayers will be sent through Resound, the email mailing list of the Religious Family of the Incarnate Word. For those who would like to participate, go to www.iveamerica.org and click on the ‘subscribe’ button.

Bruin Cub #8
Bruin Cub #9
This Bruin Cub has attended SBS for 3 years. She has a passion for sports, and has played basketball and volleyball as a Bruin. She loves to be with her family and friends, and took her most recent vacation in Rosemary Beach. She is so excited to be a Bishop Lynch Friar next year! Who am I?
E-LEARNING (AND E-FUN) RESOURCES
The Catholic Family Conference
Kidz 'N Biz Online Camp
Students will be partnering with a local business in East Dallas called Hippos and Hashbrowns to solve problems related to their business. They will even eat yummy pound cake from Hippos and Hashbrowns, and ice cream on their presentation day (online, of course)! During the camp, kids attend "business meetings" and build skills such as collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking. And they will have a blast doing it!
Click the links below for a complete program description and/or to register for the camp.
