Can you help motivated HS students?

Essex High School STEM Academy looking for internship hosts

Hello,

My name is Lea Ann Smith and I am the leader of the STEM Academy at Essex High School. The EHS STEM Academy supports students in grades 10 through 12 who are interested in building a strong foundation in the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) content areas and was recently ranked as the 50th-best STEM high school in the nation by Newsweek!

We provide students with the opportunity to explore connections across different disciplines through additional experiences such as lectures, field trips, internships, and projects ... and we need your help!

We have 135 students in the Academy and our greatest need is for organizations that are willing to host students for internships or job shadows. Our internship program has been in place since 2013 and we have helped nearly 200 students have life-changing experiences in a wide range of technical fields. If you are interested in hosting a student or know someone who may be, simply reply to this email and identify:

  1. The name of the organization willing to host

  2. The name of a contact person at that organization

  3. A general description of the topic the student would be focused on

Please feel encouraged to pass this email along to your colleagues, or to any professional organization with which you may be affiliated! We look forward to working with you to continue this tradition of excellence.

Thank you for your time and support of the EHS STEM Academy!
