Dear Stephen Decatur Families,

It is my honor and pleasure to write to you as the newly appointed Principal of Stephen Decatur Elementary School. You may know that Mr. Kehrein had taken leave from his role as our Principal. I regret to inform you that he has permanently resigned from this position. I hope you will join our entire school community in wishing Mr. Kehrein well in his future endeavors.

I have truly enjoyed serving as the interim principal this school year. I am excited to continue building relationships with all of our SD families throughout the summer and as the school year progresses. You will find that I thrive on communication and I am always here to support you in any way possible.

I am a firm believer that it takes a village to raise a child. Parents, teachers, support staff, community partners, and administration all play a part in helping our students meet and exceed expectations. I would like to thank you in advance for the role that you play in the success of Stephen Decatur Elementary School.

I feel truly blessed that a hiring committee of SD teachers, families, MSD Decatur administrators and board members selected me to serve as Stephen Decatur Elementary Principal!

Success Time Date Change!

The April and May Success Times are going to be combined into one Success Time on Friday, May 13th. With Spring ISTEP testing, NWEA testing, and End-of-the-Year activities for each grade level, we adjusted our calendar to allow time for all events to happen during this busy time. Please adjust your calendars to show May 13th for the last Success Time of the school year.

Mark your calendars! Registration for the 2016-2017 School Year

Registration dates have been approved for the 2016-2017 school year. Similar to this year, we will have 3 dates in July for registering. All families are required to come in to the building to register, pay school fees, and see the nurse if necessary. Please add these dates to your calendars and look for more information towards the end of this school year.
