CCIC Update

October 28, 2021

Welcome back from Fall Break!

As we get started on the second quarter, the CCIC administrative team made a point of visiting each CCIC classroom to share a message with all of our students:

"We are honored to have you here at the CCIC so we can support your career interests and growth. We appreciate that it takes an extra effort to get to the CCIC from your home high school every other day. We also appreciate and support the level of professionalism that CCIC students bring every day--that makes this a school where students can experience a level of respect unique to most school environments. We are proud of CCIC students and know that this will serve you well in your eventual career choices."

We are also thrilled to announce that the CCIC is a part of a consortium of K-12 schools in partnership with Arapahoe and Denver Community Colleges that was just awarded $2 million in support of Health and Wellness career growth.

CCIC students will benefit in many ways, including college scholarship funding opportunities. Stay tuned for additional details!

As you will see below, we are hosting our first Showcase Night since our opening year. Please join us on November 18th to see our students' work in their individual pathways!

Veterans Day Recognition

To offer our sincere gratitude on Veterans Day (November 11), veterans and active-duty military members who are friends and family of CCIC students and staff are invited to coffee and pastries prepared by students at the CCICafé.

Afterward, CCIC students will take groups of our honored guests on tours of the campus. This event will be from 8:00 to 8:45 AM on November 11th.

If you are interested in attending, please RSVP here no later than Wednesday, November 3rd, thank you!

Entrepreneurship Event at the CCIC: Nov. 12-13

CCIC is pleased to announce that in partnership with YouthBiz, CCIC will be hosting a business start-up weekend on Friday November 12, 2021 and Saturday November 13, 2021.

The event will last from 5pm-9pm on Friday and 9am-4:30pm on Saturday.

If you are interested in taking a business idea and developing it, or even if you don’t currently have a business idea but would like to take an opportunity to create one, this weekend is for you. YouthBiz will walk all participants through idea generation, budgeting, market research, financials, prototype creation and pitch presentation. At the end of the weekend, one participant will receive a cash-prize of $300.

This event is open to all CCIC students, from all pathways.

All meals will be provided over the course of the weekend, including Friday night dinner and breakfast and lunch on Saturday, with snacks available throughout. Participants will also have the ability to receive a t-shirt commemorating the event, as well as meet and interact with other CCIC students who have an entrepreneurial mindset.

If you are interested in attending, please fill out this form or locate the various YouthBiz flyers and posters displayed throughout the CCIC. Forms and responses are needed by November 5.
