Interesting Facts About Tennis
Tennis is a very technical and tiring sport. First, some history on tennis. Lawn Tennis was invented in 1873 by Major Walter C. Wingfield. It originated in France during the middle ages. Next, information on the players. The number one player in the world for men is Novak Djokovic. Novak was discovered as a six-year-old by Jelena Gencic who then trained him until he was about fourteen and started competing. The number one player in the world for women is the United States’ very own Serena Williams. She started playing when she was just five-years-old and was homeschooled by her dad who was also her coach. Now, some different tennis swings and scoring. These include forehand groundstroke, backhand groundstroke, forehand volley, backhand volley, overhead, and serve. In tennis when the score is zero, it is called love. Then the scoring goes fifteen, thirty, forty, and winning point. If you are playing AD-in you keep playing until someone wins by two. If you are playing no AD-in the first person to win a point after forty wins. If it is tied forty to forty it is called deuce. Next, tennis uses a lot of technique which includes how to hit the ball, where to hit the ball, and when to hit the ball. When you are playing singles, if you’ve ever seen a tennis court, the little alleys on the sides are called doubles alleys and are considered out. They are only good for playing doubles. There is a little tick mark at the end of the court by the baseline. If you are serving on the right side of the court, you cannot cross the line on the the left side of the court. Same thing goes if you’re serving on the left side of the court. If you serve into the net, it is called a “fault” and you get one more try and then the other team gets the point. You have to serve across the court into the opposite service box. One person serves for the entire game. In conclusion, tennis is a very fun, technical, tiring sport. I hope to become a professional some day.

Have you ever seen a movie based on a true story that is almost unbelievable? Miracles from Heaven is a true story about a 10-year-old girl named Anna Beam, played by Kylie Rogers, who is diagnosed with a rare stomach disease in which her intestines don't really work. She has to be fed through a tube and her stomach gets big. Her mom, Christy Beam played by Jennifer Garner, has to go with her to doctors all the way in Boston when they live in Texas. When she climbs up a big tree with her older sister, Brighton Sharbino played as Abbie Beam, the tree snaps and then she ends up falling down the hole of a 30 foot hollow tree where she is knocked unconscious and her lifeless body has to be pulled out and life flighted to a hospital. Will the fall kill her or do just the opposite? Find out in Miracles from Heaven. The theme of this movie is that family will get you through everything and miracles can happen. I think the movie is an amazing miracle and they put it together really well. The actors and actresses play the parts really well.
