Greetings From the Fields!

Parents,

Welcome to the monthly Principal's Newsletter: Field Notes! We hope that you find this bi-monthly newsletter informative and entertaining. You can also find updated information on the web page and our Facebook Page. We value the partnership of our parents and open communication, so please feel free to contact teachers and administrators. We are looking forward to a fantastic 18-19 school year at Indian Fields and Dayton!

Warmest Regards,

IFDA School Musical The Little Mermaid: What a Hit!

The school production, as well as the evening performances, brought the audience "under the sea" into Ariel's world. WOW!

JOANNE KEREKES ART GALLERY

Ms. Ewaskiewicz and Ms. Kipnis inspired our young, budding artists. As Pablo Picasso said, "Every child is an artist." Students and teachers, thank you for the gift of art!

On Friday, April 5th, our 5th-grade students had the privilege of attending the Art Show.

THANK YOU PTO!

Our PTO works in partnership with our school supports us in many ways. Recently, they provided us with a grant for a Sensory Path that children can use for brain breaks. What a wonderful gift for children!

A MESSAGE FROM OUR NURSES

Seasonal allergy symptoms have begun!!

Allergy symptoms include:

· Sneezing

· Nasal congestion

· Runny nose

· Itchy, watery, red eyes

· Itchy throat

· Coughing

· Headache

There is no real cure for seasonal allergies, but it is possible to relieve symptoms.

Don’t forget to administer medication, eye drops or nasal sprays before school if needed or prescribed by your physician.

*** We do not excuse students with allergies from participating in outdoor recess/ physical education.*** Please encourage students to wash their hands after going outside and avoid touching their eyes. If an alteration in the school day activities is necessary due to medical diagnosis, a written note from a physician with the diagnosis and specified period of time necessary for an alternation (start date and end date) is required. Please feel free to call me at 732-329-1043 ext. 3012 to discuss further if you have any questions.

THANK YOU AND WELCOME BACK!

We thank our nurse at Dayton, Ms. Ostroff, for her work with students and parents during Ms. Dowgin's absence. She truly made herself a part of our community and we wish her the best as she continues to substitute in our district.

Welcome Back Ms. Dowgin! Ms. Dowgin will return to Dayton and April 15th. We look forward to her rejoining the Indian Fields and Dayton School family.
