Gregory Gardens Weekly Bulletin
Week of April 21, 2019
Greetings from Administration
Happy Sunday families,
Last week was wonderful! Gators enjoyed the sunshine and the rain didn't interfere with our recess and lunch schedule- which we all loved! Thank you parents and students for your flexibility while we make adjustments to our drop off procedures. When pulling into the bus circle between 7:30am-7:53am please remember to pull around and drop students in front of the preschool. This allows for multiple cars to drop students, ensuring everyone gets to class on time. As we continue to keep student safety a top priority, we are no longer using the gate leading to the 4th grade wing. Students and families are asked to use the main breezeway when arriving at school.
The bus circle should not have any cars parking or dropping students off between 8:00am-2:30pm. It must be reserved for busses only- Thank you for helping us
I popped into our preschool classrooms and loved the learning I saw. Students in K-3 were listening to a story called, Jump, Frog, Jump! Kids loved playing with the jumping frog toy which helped them strengthen their hand muscles, practice asking for a turn and waiting patiently. Next door in K-4 students were playing with puzzles, cooking in the kitchen and using communication cards. Everyone was having a great day.
Fourth graders loved their on campus field trip Walk Through California! The presentation allowed our students to actively participate in a lively retelling of California’s rich history. They participated in games, music, storytelling ,listening skills, vocabulary development, history and geography standards to help our history come alive! The program focused on major events that shaped our great state of California. Thank you to the parents who volunteered during the presentations.
We are looking forward to a great week! If we can support you in anyway, please swing by the office. Below please check out upcoming events and must know information!

Skydome
Students loved having the MUR transformed into our very own planetarium. Students were treated to a 45-minute journey through the universe. Students learned about planets, constellations, astronauts and so much more! Can you believe almost 100 4/5th graders can fit inside the dome?!?! ⭐️ Thank you PTA and Mrs. Novello for bringing this to our Gators.
School Site Council Nominations
The School Site Council (SSC) is a school community’s representative body, made up of school staff, parents/community members, and at the secondary level, students. Bus Driver Appreciation
April 23rd is Bus Driver Appreciation Day. Join us in honoring our amazing District Bus Drivers. If your child rides the bus to RSPS, now is a wonderful time to show your appreciation for all their hard work.
Drop Off/ Pick Up Procedures
We need your help to reinstate best practices for preschool drop off and pick up. Parents may not park or pull into the bus circle between 8:00am-2:30pm. Parents should park in a designated parking stall and walk their student to the preschool. If your child starts at 8:30 please bring them to the playground gate where your teachers will be waiting to receive them. 10:40 students should come into the pod and enter the playground from the back double doors. Teachers will be there to greet students. At dismissal, please park and walk to meet your child outside the pod at the appropriate time. Thank you for helping us streamline our procedures. We appreciate your flexibility.
Signing Students Out Early
We understand that life happens and students may need to go home early. To keep our students and campus safe , parents please sign out your child in the office. Parents may not walk to the classroom to get their child without checking into the RSPS office first. Maureen will then work with you and your child's teacher to get you to your student. As a curtesy please let your teacher know if you need to come pick up early.
Principal Input
