Attendance Matters- Even in quarantine!

It is critically important that students are in school and on time each and every day! Our goal for all students is to avoid chronic absenteeism. A student becomes chronically absent when they are absent more than 10% of a school year which equates to less than two absences per month. While we appreciate you reporting absences even if excused they still count against chronic absenteeism.

Students who are chronically absent run the risk of falling behind in all areas, not reading on grade level, and in high school have an increased risk of dropping out. Remember it is critically important that students build strong attendance habits at a young age as it will set them up for success in the future.

Should your child or your family find themselves in quarantine it is critically important that you notify the school and your child's teacher right away! They will be given asynchronous work through google classroom. If the child is completing the work they will receive credit for being in school that day.
