OUR STORY - Shout Outs!

Food for Thought
Bus Garage Star
From Gardners ES Principal Cheryl Baggett - "I wanted to Shout Out! Jeremy Anderson with the WCS Bus Garage. He did a terrific job getting one of our buses back on the road after it was stuck in deep mud last week. It was 25 degrees, and he was so pleasant to work with and kept a smile on his face. We were on the receiving end of excellent customer service!"
Cougars Triumph
Shout Out! to the Speight MS Lady Cougars Basketball Team for a great season! Only eight players tried out for the team, so all eight made it. They gave it their all, and the coaches (Tonia Gear, Tracy Connor and Capriel Gear) inspired them to persevere. They finished the season with an amazing 11-1 record tied with Forest Hills MS.

Other Interesting Facts: I have two sons - Collins, who attends New Hope ES, and Snyder, who attends Elm City MS. My husband, Brent, is a PE teacher and the athletic director at Elm City MS. We are a WCS family and are truly invested in our school system.
Why I Love WCS: I love WCS because of the camaraderie among my colleagues and how supported my family is by the WCS community.
Why I Teach: I love teaching children and love teaching math. I want to make our schools a safe place where our children can come experience something new each day and know that I care. I have been fortunate to teach alongside some awesome educators who have become lifelong friends. I have also learned from some of the best administrators along the way. I am proud to be apart of the Demon Family and WCS system.

More Shout Outs!
- Shout Out! to Hunt HS Bus Driver Theodore Richardson and Principal Eddie Doll for assisting the Hampton University Track and Field Team on Feb. 2. The team was heading home to Virginia from a competition in South Carolina when the engine of their charter bus caught fire on I-95 around 10 p.m. Hunt was contacted because of its proximity, and Mr. Richardson wasted no time securing a bus and going to pick up the 40 team members. They were taken to Hunt where Mr. Doll welcomed them and made sure they were comfortable. Hampton University sent a bus to pick up the team, which arrived around 2 a.m. We are so thankful no one was injured!
