MRHS Key Club Attends DECON
The Monomoy Key Club attended the 69th Annual Key Club District Educational Conference (DECON) from Friday, April 6th-Sunday, April 8th in Springfield, MA. DECON is an annual gathering of Key Clubbers, from all over New England, to celebrate the closing of the service year and the start of a new one. Over the weekend, Key Clubbers attended workshops, participated in group events, voted for their next executive board, and received recognition of what their club has accomplished throughout the service year. The Monomoy Key Club received the Early Bird Award for paying our club dues early! The whole experience was a great way for our new club to see what other clubs in our district are doing and gain perspective on how our hard work helps our communities, children, families, and anyone else in need. We look forward to an incredible service year!
A shark shout out to our students who attended the conference: Nate Amaker, Cam Archibald, Cesca Barr, Grace Boyle, Miles Boyle, Perry Comeau, Nate Gibson, Olivia Hayden, Abby Higgins, Caraline LaBelle, Lily MacAskill, Kiernan Murphy, Emma Norcott, Lizzy Pandiscio, Tommy Pandiscio, Aliza Pillsbury, Kathleen Prescott, Liam Prescott, Shannon Smith, Abby Sullivan, Emma Sullivan, Ben Thomas, Abby Tyldesley, and Matt Veary. Another shark shout out to Ms. Police for helping Ms. Kelly chaperone the weekend event!
Shark "Shout Outs" MRHS's way of Appreciating the Great People That Make Our School "A Home Away From Home" Please share any good news with us!
Shark Shout out for creating a collaboration opportunity while the gym floor is being re-surfaced. Today Mr. De La Vega's and Ms. Freitas's D block classes came together in the kitchen classroom for "churro" french toast, apple pie muffins, and orange coconut smoothies made with homemade yogurt! Great! Thanks, the Wellness Department (picture above)
I would like to acknowledge Perry Comeau and Caroline Davock for their recent recognition in the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program. This recognition allows our two students to potentially be considered for national scholarships. Their achievement is exceptional and I could not be more proud of their accomplishments.

Hi Rose! (Richard)
This is long overdue but I just wanted to send you a quick note of praise. I, along with so many others, were blown away by the musical and the Spring Pops concert. (And to think you had select chorus performances sandwiched in there as well!) Everybody keeps raving about both the level of excellence and entertainment. Out of sight! Christian loves being part of your band and jazz band. Thank you for your dedication. It's clear to see your passion and care. You are a gifted teacher!
Best,
Amy Middleton

Job Fair Huge Success!
The 2nd Annual Monomoy Job Fair took place on Thursday April 5. The Job Fair is conducted in partnership with the Chambers of Commerce from Harwich & Chatham. Seasonal, Part-Time, as well as Full Time jobs are all available at the Fair.
This year, despite the fact that the Fair had to be rescheduled due to the wild weather in March, we had a good turn out and our business partners had many applicants. In addition, Monomoy students earned high marks for their mature approach to the Fair
A Shark Shout Out to all out staff members for being so flexible. A special thanks to our physical education colleagues (Stacy, Marcus, & Emily) for use of the gym as well as Cliff and his custodial team for all their assistance!
Same time next year
Mr. Alexander
London Calling!
A huge shark shout out to James Otto, Caitlyn Coughlin, and Jen Police for giving up their time and lending their talent to make this year's London trip both safe and enjoyable for our students. Bringing 24 students to a major European city is a daunting task, and all three answered the call with enthusiasm and care for our kids. I am fortunate to work with such wonderful teachers!
I also wish to acknowledge the Art of Charity whose generosity provided us with the funding for a transfer bus to and from Logan airport. Taking one more concern out of the mix, especially with bridge traffic, has been such a help and support. Thanks to this great organization that continues to support Monomoy students in all cultural endeavors.
