PBC PTO, AWB PTA & MS PTSO - thanking our teachers and staff during Teacher Appreciation Week!
Showing appreciation for the RCS District Teachers and Staff -- last week, the RCS MS PTSO, AWB PTA & PBC PTO recognized teachers and staff as a part of Teacher Appreciation Week! Each group held a week-long celebration to thank them for their dedication, support, and care for our RCS students and community. Big thank you to these groups for putting together such great events, and a huge thank you to our teachers and staff for all of the hard work, knowledge, and kindness they bring to our District!

RCS Middle School announces National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) inductees
Another day, another impressive accomplishment by our RCS students! On Tuesday, 52 RCS Middle School students were inducted into the National Junior Honor Society. Students were selected for induction through a rigorous application process. Congratulations to these students on receiving this outstanding recognition!

Next week we have not one, not two, but THREE Art Shows and one Science Fair! Join us in celebrating the skills, and creativity of our talented students. The events are:
- MS & HS Annual Art Show: Next week is the Annual Middle & High School Art Show! It is on Tuesday, May 17, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Students and caregivers are invited to visit the lobby in both buildings for the show.
- AWB Art Show, Science & Engineering Fair: Next week is also the AWB Art Show, Science & Engineering Fair. It is on Wednesday, May 18, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Students and caregivers are invited to walk the halls of AWB to enjoy artwork and science projects from students k-5.

District Fundraisers
Running & Upcoming Fundraisers:
- Class of 2025 -- Mrs. Fields Cookies Fundraiser: Mrs. Fields Cookie dough is preportioned and ready for the oven! There are a variety of yummy flavors, and they cost $20 a box. Orders can be made via an RCS Freshman or by contacting Ms. McCormack (jmccormack@rcscsd.org) or Mrs. Visicaro (Svanpatten@rcscsd.org). Orders must be placed by May 17th.
- MS & HS Genders & Sexualities Alliances Clubs -- Homeless Youth Donation Drive: For the month of May, the Middle & High School GSA Clubs are currently running a supply donations drive to collect necessary supplies to help out youth who cannot stay in their homes and need a safe place to stay. They are looking for the following items: toothbrushes, soap, body wash, slippers, shampoo, loofahs, masks, school supplies, backpacks, activity gift cards (ex. movies, bowling, etc.), travel-size toothpaste, travel-size deodorant, and travel-size mouthwash. Please note that no monetary donations are accepted.
- MS PTSO -- RCS Community 5K and Craft Fair: Saturday, May 21, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be food trucks and touch-a-truck for the little ones, in addition to tons of crafters, vendors, and other activities. The day will begin with a 5K, one-mile walk, and family fun run as well. They are still looking for crafters, vendors, food trucks, and any young people who may want to sell their crafts, goods or provide services (like bracelet making or hair braiding) or even advertise their businesses in our young entrepreneur section. - PBC Student Council on Behalf of the 5th Grade Class -- Pajama/Hat Day: On Thursday, May 26, all PBC PreK through 5th-grade students get to wear PJs and/or a hat. $1 can be donated to benefit the 5th-grade class.
- Class of 2023 -- Bottle and Can Collections: Bring your empty bottles and cans to Just Makes Cents at 2381 Route 9W in Ravena and ask them to apply your total to the Class of 2023 account. The fundraiser runs all year long.
Class of 2023 -- Flamingo Flocking Fundraiser: Join us in the fun and send our flock to friends, neighbors, & family members! Unsuspecting loved ones will walk out their front door to their yard full of our flock of pink flamingos! Flocks will rest for 24 hours in each location, where that person will choose to either βflock it onβ to someone else or simply have them removed. Participate now through the end of May.
