The Elk Call

Principal's Message

Burleson High School is off to a great start to the school year! We all want to thank you for allowing us to be a part of your child's life and being able to make a difference for ALL students here at BHS. In order for us to improve in our communication with students, parents, and the Burleson community, we will begin to send out this weekly newsletter "THE ELK CALL." This will assist us in informing everyone of the celebrations at BHS, upcoming events, college and career access for students, and any other valuable information that you or your child might need. We know that this will help in getting the message out to you in a easy to use format.

Thank you for your continued support!

Family Time:

This week, instead of asking the dreaded question, "Hey, what are you going to do after high school?", ask them, "What problem(s) do you want to solve?" --Lauren Hurt-Ashwin.

September is Suicide Awareness Month

Although families and friends may struggle to address this topic, it is a real risk factor for teens. For young adults between the ages of 10-24 years old, suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death.

The counselor's office maintains a list of resources in our community and can make referrals, as needed. This link is to an article that will provide more facts and dispel myths about this important topic.
