GCSD Summer Programs : Registration Begins April 22
The Greece Central School District is proud to offer a variety of summer programs for students of all ages. This year, we have expanded athletics and fun camp options for secondary students and added an online registration system. Space in our summer programs is limited and registration is on a first-come first served-basis. We are sharing this program booklet before registration opens on April 22 so you can familiarize yourself with the summer program offerings and decide which camps work best for your family.
How to Access Grouptrail
Once summer program registration opens on April 22, use this link to access the Grouptrail website. You will be asked to enter an email address. Be sure to use the email address where you receive all school communications. If you enter a different email address, you will not be able to log in to Grouptrail and will need to call 966-2911 for log-in assistance.
Grouptrail will email you a one-time-use link that takes you to the registration portal. That link is only good for 15 minutes and cannot be reused.
Once you access the registration site, you will be able to see and register for any summer programs your children are eligible for.
If you decide to register for additional programs at a later time, follow the steps above to get a new one-time-use link. Remember, you cannot reuse the same link.
Registration instructions are included on page 3 of the summer program booklet. Please be mindful that the registration deadline for some camps is May 10. Please be sure to log in early to secure your child’s spot in any desired summer programs.
BACK TO THE FUTURE KidsCare Summer Programs 2024
KidsCare will once again be offering a summer program for K-5 Greece Central students. This year’s theme is Back to the Future and we are very busy planning engaging activities based around time travel! Please review the 2024 Summer Program flier. Registration will open on March 18th for current KidsCare families and we will begin processing registrations from applicants across the district on April 1st.
KidsCare 2024-2025
Before & After School Care 2024-25
Additionally, it is also time to start thinking about your before and after school needs for the 2024-2025 school year. Please review the new school year flier and note that registration for the fall will open on April 15th. All summer and fall registrations are processed through My School Bucks and require that you have your account set up first, and then continue on to register at msbactivities.com using your same username and password from My School Bucks.
If you need support in the registration process please reach out to heather.barton@greececsd.org or kellygiudice@greececsd.org. You can also contact our office by phone at 966-2456.

Attendance Matters-Make Every Day Count
The Greece Central School District has made improving student attendance a priority for the 2023-24 school year. Since the pandemic, students are missing more school days, which means they are also missing out on more instructional time and opportunities to make meaningful personal connections.
Our staff are here to help families overcome any obstacles to regular school attendance. Please reach out to your child's teacher, counselor, or social worker if you need help and we will develop a plan together. Our school community is always better when we are all together!
DRESS CODE REMINDER
From the Health Office
~ NYS requires all students entering 12th grade to have proof of a meningococcal immunization that was administered after their 16th birthday.
For most students, this will be their second immunization.
~ If your student is entering 9th or 11th grade,
NYS requires them to have a current Physical Exam on file in the Health Office. Please plan accordingly.
~ Fall athletes need Physical Exams dated no earlier than 8/30/23 to be cleared for participation.
Free Lunch 2023-24
Please remember that you should still fill out a free and reduced lunch application to qualify for grants or reduced fees on AP exams, college applications and other programs. If you haven't already done so, please complete and return the Income Data Collection form at the bottom of this newsletter if you wish to be considered for fee waivers.
Announcing our partnership with Counslr
With live sessions available on-demand or by scheduled appointment, Counslr makes it easy for students to seek support on their schedule and to find a counselor who they click with. Aiming to be a safe space for students to seek support, all sessions on Counslr are entirely confidential. Due to the convenient and private nature of text-based communication, Counslr was specifically designed to help students deal with the day-to-day issues that life throws their way.
Counslr is not a replacement for traditional therapy. Counslr counselors do not diagnose, treat, or prescribe medication. When it is determined that deeper intervention and/or parental/guardian involvement may be beneficial, Counslr counselors will seek consent from students to make a referral back to the school counseling center, to ensure that students are always receiving the most appropriate care.
Students looking to access Counslr's services on May 1st can do so by following the instructions below:
- Download the Counslr mobile app.
- Sign up with your school email address.
- Enter your parent/guardian email to request parental/guardian consent.
- Once consent is received, you will be able to engage in live texting sessions with licensed counselors from within the app.
Interested in learning more? Go to http://counslr.com/faq-parents to review Counslr’s Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).
Betting On Your Mental Health
As you know, Athena High School partners with Counslr, a digital mental health support app to provide you with free and confidential access to text-based mental health support, 24/7/365.
You can read the blog here and, if you haven't already, I encourage you to download the Counslr app today. Even if you don't feel as though you want or need to use Counslr in the near-term, downloading the app now ensures that you'll have quick access to support should the need arise. You can also follow Counslr on socials (LinkedIn, Instagram & Twitter) for more access to mental health-related content and all-things Counslr!
Alumni Tshirts
The Diversity Inclusion and Leadership Network is thrilled to share our new Greece Alumni T-Shirts. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for alums to show pride, continue traditions, and re-ignite school spirit. In addition, the proceeds from the fundraiser will be used to support events that encourage a stronger sense of community, including scholarships for students who express an interest in joining our district family after graduation, networking events for employees from across the district to come together, and celebrations of multicultural holidays. If you would like to purchase a t-shirt, the sign-up form can be found here. In addition, if you would like to donate to the Belonging and Inclusion Fund, you can donate at paypal to @GreeceTeachers through GTA's PayPal account at paypal.me/GreeceTeachers, and put "Belonging and Inclusion Fund" in the description.
