Message From the Principal

Athena Families,

Thank you to those who were able to attend last week's Open House. Our staff was energized by the outreach, support, and kindness from all of you. If you were unable to attend and are interested in setting up a team meeting to meet your child's teachers, please feel free to give us a call at 966-4000.

On another note, I would like to express our gratitude to the Athena PTSA, who treated us to an Athena Staff Appreciation Breakfast last Friday, October 8th during Superintendent's Conference Day.

Lastly, a friendly reminder that your child's 5 week grades will be posted by tomorrow afternoon. Please take a moment to review. If you have any questions, concerns, or if your child is in need of support, please reach out to the counseling office: 966-4044.

Enjoy the beautiful weather this week! Stay well...

Questions will be asked about personal safety, nutrition, alcohol and other drug use, physical exercise, mental health, sexual behaviors, and community involvement.

The survey has been done in Monroe County schools every two years since 1992. Free meals

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) recently announced that free meals will continue to be available to all students throughout the 2021-22 school year. Greece students, regardless of age or household income, can get a free breakfast and free lunch at the school they attend every school day. This program is open to in-person and remote students. Click here for more information and to see menus.

Even though all the students will be eligible for free meals, each household is receiving an application for Free and Reduced lunch. Applications will be mailed to all Greece students' households on Monday 8/16. Families are encouraged to complete the application for a few reasons:

- If the Federal Government releases future P-EBT Food Benefit Cards, families without a current Free & Reduced Meals Application might not be eligible for the benefit.
- Fee waivers for SAT, ACT, AP, and dual enrollment might not be granted to students who do not have a current application on file.
- Free meals to all students will expire on June 30, 2022. Students without a current eligibility application on file cannot be considered temporarily free eligible for the 2022/23 school year.
