LHS named an Exemplar Performance School
Landstown High School was recently named an Exemplar School by the Virginia Department of Education. For this award, a school needed to earn a state accreditation rating of accredited or accredited with conditions and meet at least one of the following benchmarks established by the BOE:
- A cumulative 10-point increase over three years in the combined rates for reading and mathematics and in the pass rate for science, with improvement each year on each indicator;
- A cumulative 10-point increase over three years in the combined rates for reading and mathematics for two or more student groups, with improvement each year for each group on both indicators;
- A cumulative 15% decrease in the chronic absenteeism rate over three years, with a decrease each year; or
- For schools with a graduating class, a cumulative four-point increase in the Graduation and Completion Index over three years, with an increase each year, and a cumulative 15% decrease in the dropout rate, with a decrease each year.
We are extremely proud of the work done by our students and staff that led to this distinction!
Student Schedules
Student schedules for the upcoming school year will be available in both StudentVUE and ParentVUE on August 23rd Students' passwords may have expired over the summer. Students may reset their own passwords from home, if they remember their last password, through this link: Update Student Password. Students who do not recall their password may come to Landstown during the week of August 26 - 30 to do a password reset. Note that parents' passwords never expire, so consider using ParentVUE as a way to see a student's schedule. Note that ALL students will receive a hard copy schedule on the first day of school. We are excited to welcome you back soon Eagles. Have a great rest of your summer break!
