Description- Firefighter is to protect the community from disaster situations, including house and building fires, and promote an environment of public safety within the City there in. Responds to fire alarms and extinguishes fire. Responds to calls for emergency medical services, and renders first aid.


Hours and salary and growth - Median $45,250 per year $21.76 per hour. Firefighters are 24 hours on followed by 48 hours off, or 10- to 12-hour shifts for three to four days in a row.Employment of firefighters is expected to grow 9 percent, slower than the average for all occupations.


Locations- Rosemont , Park Ridge, and downtown Chicago


Education needed-Certificates, associate's degrees and bachelor's degree in fire science are widely available at communitie colleges and 4-year universities.


Skills Required- Fire Control-try to deprive the fuel of fire, oxygen and other chemicals that can enhance the fire.

Rescue- Rescue operation is a combination of two jobs, searching for trapped people and animal at the accident spot and rescuing them to a safe place in possibly best condition.
