The application deadline for the Dr. Martin Jenkins Scholar Award has been extended to September 26! The Jenkins Award from the National Association for Gifted Children recognizes highly gifted Black middle & high school students across the country. The Dr. Martin D. Jenkins Scholar Award, named in honor of Dr. Jenkins, known as the father of research on Gifted Black Students, is designed to honor the achievements of highly gifted Black students who excel academically in school. Students in grades 6-12 are eligible. This year's NAGC Convention is in Indianapolis, IN, so we are especially reaching out to students in Indiana this year! NEW FROM PURDUE UNIVERSITY: Eighth-Annual Indiana STEM Education Conference
Purdue University invites you to join them for the eighth-annual Indiana STEM Education Conference. The conference will be held in-person on January 12, 2023, at Purdue University. The theme for the 2023 conference is “Advancing STEM with Students.” The conference will include keynote speaker and 2022 Indiana Teacher of the Year Sharita Ware, over 50 presentations on STEM curriculum, instruction, careers, and research, and networking with STEM education sponsors. Topics will involve 1st Maker Space, CATALYST, Get More Math, Keep Indiana Learning, NearSpace Education, and TinkRworks, and presentation resources. NEW FROM THE BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA CROSSROADS FOR AMERICA COUNCIL: Now Hiring Reaching for Tomorrow Part-Time Program Leaders
Reaching for Tomorrow, a Learning for Life Program, is looking for part-time program leaders to deliver basic life skills and character education modules in elementary, junior high, and high school classrooms in Indianapolis and the surrounding counties. This is a paid position with flexibility to make your own schedule at 25 hours per week. Leaders are expected to set a positive example, be motivated, and self-confident. Leaders must be 21 years old, have experience working with youth, and have an automobile with insurance. Training will be provided. NEW FROM THE U.S. FEDERAL COURTS: Bill of Rights Contest Now Accepting Entries
The third annual Bill of Rights art/essay contest sponsored by the U.S. Courts is live and is now accepting entries. Students in grades five through 12 are invited to respond to specific prompts pertaining to the Bill of Rights. Students can win up to $500, and teachers can win prizes, too. The more students who mention a teacher's name on their entry, the more chances they have to win! The deadline to submit entries is Sunday, October 30. TO ACHIEVE AWARD ELIGIBILITY FOR THE 2022 HEISMAN HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP PRESENTED BY ACCEPTANCE INSURANCE, STUDENTS MUST BE SENIORS DURING THE 2022-2023 ACADEMIC YEAR, GRADUATING WITH THE CLASS OF 2023. APPLICANTS MUST:
Have a cumulative weighted high school grade point average (GPA) of a B (3.0) or better.
Participate or have participated in grades 9, 10, or 11 in at least one of the sports recognized by the International Olympic Committee in the Summer and Winter Olympic Games, the Paralympic Games or the National Federation of State High School Association. NEW! IU Bloomington: Groups Scholar
Becoming a Groups Scholar
To be eligible for the Groups Scholars programs students must meet the following requirements:
- Be a resident of the state of Indiana
- Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen (Has a green card)
- Meet the income and eligibility guidelines
- Please contact us directly to obtain information contained in these documents in an accessible format.
- Have a minimum cumulative high school GPA of at least 2.5
- Complete the minimum (34 hours) college preparatory courses
Personal characteristics also are an important part of being a Groups Scholar. We look for students who demonstrate a positive attitude, a sense of civility, the ability to persevere, and a strong motivation to succeed, an excellent attendance record, and a commitment to earn a college degree.
Applications are available from Recommenders starting August 1 and the deadline for submission is November 1 of each year. We will accept applications until December 15, but priority consideration will go to those who complete their application by the November 1 deadline. An application is considered complete when an IU Application with all supporting documentation and a Groups application is on file.

The Award for AiC honors 9th-12th grade women, genderqueer, and non-binary students for their computing-related achievements and interests, and encourages them to pursue their passion.

Regional Winners and Honorable Mentions will be recognized at their local NCWIT Ceremony with prizes, personalized awards, and some amazing speakers. National Award Winners receive cash and an invitation to the National Award Celebration in March 2023, hosted by Bank of America.
Each applicant needs an educator endorsement. You play a key role in encouraging your students to apply and endorsing their application. 62% of past recipients reported that their educator encouraged them to apply.

Applicants must be a high school student, recent high school graduate, current college/community college student, or have obtained a GED
Applicants must have high financial need. Strong preference will be given to applicants who are not eligible for in-state tuition
Strong preference will be given to those who are interested in pursuing one of the following career paths: software engineering, nursing, analytics, business, and digital marketing. Popular majors that align with these career paths include math, statistics, computer science, data science, nursing, etc.

The Match Scholarship
Match Scholarship Recipients are granted early admission to one of QuestBridge's college partners with a full four-year scholarship, worth over $200,000. Our college partners use a combination of their own funds as well as state and federal aid to fund the scholarship. Please view each college partner's Financial Aid section for further details and see a glossary of financial aid terms.
The Match Scholarship is offered as part of a generous financial aid package provided by the college that covers the cost of attendance, including:
- Tuition and fees
- Room and board
- Books and supplies
- Travel expenses
All Match Scholarship packages:
- Have NO parental contribution
- Have NO student loans
- May contain a student contribution in the form of Federal work-study, summer work, or student savings
Admission through the National College Match
Last year, over 1,400 Finalists were matched (admitted early with a Match Scholarship). Finalists who do not match can apply through QuestBridge Regular Decision to be considered for admission and generous financial aid. Approximately 2,000 Finalists were admitted through QuestBridge Regular Decision last year.
To date, over 30,000 Finalists have been admitted to a college partner through QuestBridge, including over 8,500 who were admitted with full four-year scholarships. Finalists who attend our college partners are supported in their college years and beyond through on-campus chapters and nationwide opportunities offered through the QuestBridge Scholars Network and QuestBridge Alumni Association.

Louie's Tux Shop Model Search
Louie's Tux Shop will be awarding (2) college scholarships in conjunction with our 8th annual statewide Model Search. We will be bringing together a 100% local cast to participate in our annual photo shoot in October and two students will be named "Top Model" and will receive a $1,000.00 college scholarship. A total of 20 students will be participating and all will be featured in our next prom magazine to be published in the spring.
Ten students will be chosen by their peers during the online voting period in September and October. These students will receive automatic entries to the photo shoot. Another ten students will receive special invitations from Louie's Tux Shop and Act ll Modeling Agency to round out the cast with all students having an equal chance at winning the scholarships.

CollegeBoard Opportunity Scholarships - Class of 2023

Students who use Official SAT® Practice on Khan Academy® and begin personalized practice are eligible for this scholarship. Ensure your students:
•Create a Khan Academy account on satpractice.org and link their College Board and Khan Academy accounts.
•Click the prompt to agree to send their scores from the College Board to Khan Academy to successfully link accounts.
•Complete at least one Timed Mini Section (if they have a PSAT/NMSQT® or SAT score) or one Diagnostic Quiz (if they don't yet have a score) on Official SAT Practice on Khan Academy to be eligible for a $500 scholarship.
