CADCA Conference AND Fundraiser for Youth

The Annual CADCA National Leadership Forum is January 30 - February 2, 2023. We are SO excited to announce that we have FIVE youth attending from Pomeroy! To help our youth get the most out of their visit to our nation's Capitol, we are doing a fundraiser to raise $125 for each of them. This will cover the Moonlight Monuments tour, the Capitol Wheel, and provide some extra spending money for souvenirs. Please see the fundraising letter below:

Dear Community Members,

We are a new initiative in Pomeroy called The Pirate Partners Youth Coalition. We started this club in 2022 as a Senior Project to spread awareness of prevention at Pomeroy Jr. Sr. high school. In addition to projects at PHS, we have the opportunity to travel to Washington DC to attend the Community Anti- Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA) National Leadership Conference to meet with other youth coalitions across the United States, and advocate for more youth friendly policies at our nation’s Capitol.

Our grants cover the entire cost of travel, lodging, and food for this conference, However, in order for each of our student leaders to have the opportunity to fully experience Washington DC, we are asking for donations to cover the following costs-

Washington DC, Moonlight Monuments Tour: $50

The Capitol Wheel, National Harbor, Maryland: $25

Extra spending money for souvenirs: $50

Total: $125 per student

We plan to send 5 students to Washington DC this year, so our fundraising goal is $625.

If you’re willing to donate, please, you can send a check made out to Quality Behavioral Health- in the notes, please write Pirate Partners Youth Coalition. Checks can be mailed to Sarah Meyers, PO Box 654, Pomeroy, WA 99347, or dropped off at QBH Pomeroy, 856 Main St.

Thank you very much for your generosity!

Youth Coalition Ropes Course

On November 19, seven youth coalition members participated in a ropes course in Kennewick. The ropes course is designed to enhance leadership and team building. Our kids did great and had a fantastic time working and playing at this event! We look forward to more projects with the youth coalition in the near future!
