Holy Rosary School Derby

Once again, we've experienced a bustling couple of weeks filled with exciting events. Our multi-sport carnival, Remembrance Day Liturgy, and community service initiatives were all significant highlights. Additionally, our equine excursion and Kindy assembly added to the vibrancy of our school life.

As we approach the end of the term, the excitement continues with our much-anticipated Pool Party tomorrow. Following that, we have Parent/Teacher meetings scheduled for Wednesday, November 22nd, a Christmas Concert on Wednesday, November 29th, and the pinnacle of our term, the Graduation Dinner on Monday the 4th followed by the End of Year Mass and Awards on Tuesday the 5th of December.

Undoubtedly, the upcoming weeks will be filled with joy, celebration, and a sense of accomplishment for our staff, students, and families. As we head into the Christmas holidays, everyone is sure to welcome a well-deserved break!

Soccer Broome

The Year 3/4 students participated well in the recent multi sport carnival in Broome where they participated in the soccer competition. Our students played well and tried their best, with some great sportsmanship modelled to their competition. Thank you to Miss Inge and Mr Elijah for supporting the students on the day.

Thank you to Miss Marina and Miss Bec for organising our Remembrance Day liturgy on Friday 10th November. Miss Marina wrote the liturgy and Miss Bec organised the amazing wreath. We remembered and thanked all those service men and women who died when serving their country during war and also acknowledged the service of the men and women who served and are serving their country.

The wreath was taken to the Derby Remembrance Service, with many comments on how special and personal our contribution was on this occasion.

Families please be aware that we have a uniform policy and we would like you to support the following as this is in line with our policy;

• No Acrylic/SNS nails
• No Make up
• No more than one pair of small studs or sleepers
• No crocs or thongs (sneakers/runners preferred or sandals with a back strap)
• All long hair tied up (half up hair styles are not appropriate for school)
• Hair to be off the face

Students are required to wear royal blue shorts/skorts which is available to be purchased from Betta Electrical in town.

We also supply a school hat so therefore our expectation is that ONLY school hats are worn at school.

We appreciate your support with this and ask that you encourage your child to attend in the appropriate uniform. There are a number of second hand uniform items available to purchase at Admin.

Students from grades 1 to 6 who do not have proper footwear will not be permitted to participate in recess and lunch play. This policy will be reinforced starting this Friday.

If you are interested in supporting the growth and direction of Holy Rosary School we would love to see you join our school Advisory Council. The Council meets once a term to discuss ways to support the school with programmes and future planning and works in partnership with the Principal and relevant members of Staff.
