Judaism is the way of life for Jewish people. They began as a small nation of Hebrews and continued to be an influential religion, They stress the belief in God and believe that you must pray to Him and only Him and they believe in karma as well. Believing in one God implies that they are monotheistic and they refer to Him as God. Their "holy book" is the Bible. Some of the major holidays include the Sabbath and Hanukkah.
Hinduism originated in early India. They are polytheistic, meaning that they believe in many gods. They also believe in reincarnation, meaning that depending on how you live your life, your soul will return to earth after you die but in a different form. They believe there is a chief god (Shiva), a mother goddess (Shakti) and a myriad of local community gods. Their holidays include Diwali, Holi and Mahashivaratri.
Buddhism was founded 2500 years ago in India. The Buddha was called the "Enlightened One." After he became enlightened, he taught that the way to eliminate suffering begins with understanding the true nature of the world. He rejected speculation about matters such as God and followed the Four Noble Truths which stated that they can free themselves from suffering. Their rituals consisted of meditation as well.
Islam is a monotheistic religion and refer to God as Allah. They believe that one day, there will be a day do judgment and humanity will be divided between the eternal destinations of either paradise and Hell. Within 100 years of the death of Muhhamad, the founder of the Islam religion, this religion had spread from the Atlantic to the border of China. The holy book of Islam is called the Quran. Some of their holidays include Muharram, Ramadana me etc.
