St. Columba's Primary School
NEWSLETTER | TERM 1 | WEEK 4 | 24 FEBRUARY 2022
Father, I offer you all my thoughts and all my words.
All that I do, all that I enjoy, and all that I suffer today.
I pray that I may serve you faithfully, and do your will in all things.
For the love of you, and the love of my brothers and sisters,
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen
From the Principal
Dear Parents and Carers
Congratulations to Mrs Gorvorko and Mrs Van Der Bijl who have recently had babies. Everything is going well and both families are now experiencing the wonderful joys of parenthood and sleepless nights.
Mrs Brine commences her maternity leave at the end of the week. We wish her and her husband the very best in this new and exciting chapter of their lives.
St Columba’s has held discussions with Camp Australia about running Vacation Care at the school during the school holiday periods. I am pleased to advise that as from Term 2, St Columba’s School will have Vacation Care onsite during the school holiday periods. We believe this provides greater support for working families and continuity of care for the children. There will be more information coming in the near future.
In the classroom and on the sports field, the children have been busy learning and having fun. We continue to share photos of everyday school moments via our social media, so that parents and carers can follow their learning journey.
God Bless
Allen McMahon

Sacramental Program 2022
At this stage of the year the Sacramental Program for 2022 will continue for those students involved in Years 3, 4 and 6.
Please note the Sacraments are Parish-based and not school-based and decisions surrounding the Sacraments are made by the Parish Priest in consultation with the school.
Attendance at either of the St Columba’s Parish Sacramental Enrolment Masses are compulsory for all students who wish to receive the Sacraments this year.
In 2022, two Sacramental Enrolment Masses will be offered – Saturday 12th March at 6pm or Sunday 13th March at 9:30am.
One parent and student candidates are asked to attend either Enrolment Mass. Appropriate social distancing measures will be in place.
The Sacramental Enrolment form below will be sent home as a hard copy this week with your child. These are due back to the classroom teacher by Friday 11 March.
Please also see below the St Columba’s Parish Sacramental Overview for 2022, including key dates and events.
CEWA Child Safe Framework

If you have not received your school fees, please email finance@stcolumbassp.wa.edu.au
Waste Free Wednesday
As part of our Sustainability initiatives across the school we encourage students to bring a Waste-Free lunch every Wednesday for the remainder of the year.
Holding a waste-free lunch day is a great way to:
• reduce food and packaging waste in your school
• help students and parents to understand the benefits of a waste-free lunch
• educate and inspire students and the wider school community to avoid and recover waste.
National Ride2School Day
National Ride2School Day is Australia’s biggest celebration of active travel and one of the best days on the school calendar. It is a day full of fun and colour where students, teachers and parents discover the joy of riding and kick-start healthy habits for the future.
