THANK YOU to all the RCG Meal Volunteers this Season!
I truly appreciate all the help with feeding the kids. There were five meals (five home games including Junior High Night) and dinner at BOA. There was a lot going on! Thanks to Mrs. Torres and Mr. Roush for making sure we had the areas and tables reserved.
Planning and fixing family meals isn’t easy, so doing it for 130+ kids was a monumental task! Thank you again to everyone who volunteered their time to help make our band meals a success!

HELP STILL NEEDED
We are still looking for someone to manage the loading and unloading of props and pit equipment at HSE and the contest sites on Saturday, October 19 and Friday, October 25.
4-6 adults are needed to load and unload the props as well as push pit equipment up and down the ramp of the semi. If you have volunteered for pit/props on either of these days, there will be opportunities Thursday and Friday of this week to learn/review how to set the back props and the scrims if you have not helped previously.
October 25 - BOA Lucas Oil
We have secured a semi driver for this day. We are still looking for someone to pull the prop trailer. If you are available, please let me know. You can use your own truck or we can rent a pickup for you to use.

SECRET BUDDY BAGS
REMINDER ABOUT BUDDY BAGS FOR REGIONAL CONTEST ON SATURDAY OCTOBER 19TH.
Another earlier report time. Please have your student remember to bring the bag. It is helpful if the bag comes in with your student instead of later in the day. We can track them better.
A Few Reminders:
- Small bag with either a snack, a drink, candy and/or a toy for their band buddy. You do not have to include all the items from the list in each bag, each week.
- All items must be small and able to fit into a small bag. Each bag needs to have the band members buddy name listed clearly on the outside.
- Please remind your student to drop the bags inside Door 18 as they enter. Find the bus list that their buddy is riding and leave the bag there.
These are distributed on competition days, anonymously, so the kids have fun all season trying to guess who their secret buddy is. Don’t spend a lot of money on this. The toys are typically dollar store items that the kids think will cater to their buddy’s personality. Everyone has a laugh at some of the goofy things they get. If your student signs up for the program please see that they participate and follow the rules, as no one wants to have a neglected buddy. If your student forgets, then their buddy does not get a bag. Please contact me with any questions.

RCG Fees
If a monetary balance exists on a student's account, student will not be allowed to participate in future RCG Marching Band, Winter Guard, or Winter Percussion. Once balance is paid in full, student will be eligible to participate. Depending on timing of full payment, directors will decide participation in respective season.
Please be sure that you are checking your My Music Office account frequently and taking care of fees owed. We do not want to see a student miss out on a season because fees are not paid.
Payments can be made on the HSE HS Bands’ website or a check payable to HSE Royal Guardians placed in the Drop Box in the band room.
Please contact studentaccounts@hsehsbands.com, if you have any questions or concerns on your account.
RCG 2019 Holiday Ornaments
Orders are still being taken for RCG Show Ornaments. This annual tradition featuring the 2019 RCG show will be nicely displayed along with student’s name and instrument/color guard as a perfect way to remember all of the hard work put into this season. The ornaments are $20 each and for each ornament sold $5 is donated back to HSE HS Bands.
Please return completed order form with payment to the Band Room Drop Box.
RCG October 25th BOA Indianapolis Trip Permission Forms Due!
All RCG 9-12th grade students were given a "RCG Competition Field Trip Permission Form" to be completed, signed and returned to Mrs. Torres. If you have not already done so, it is important that this form is completed and turned in asap! If you need another form, please see Mrs. Torres. 8th grade students do not need to complete and turn in this form. All parents are required to do to have the absence excused is call their student's school and let them know that he/she will be participating in the competition. (The junior highs are already aware of this.)
Trunk or Treat October 29th, 9:00pm
Set up will be on the east side of the parking lot towards the stadium and tennis courts. We can form two lines of cars with their trunks facing each other going to the south end of the parking lot. We will start lining up around 8:30pm. Decorating your vehicle is optional, but the kids really enjoy it when you do! This is a fun event for parents as well to visit with other band families. Some parents even dress up!
Siblings are welcome to participate. Please send me an email at secretary@hsehsbands.com to let me know how many siblings will be participating by Saturday October 19th, so I can let everyone know how many people they need to purchase candy for. Treat bags will be provided if your student needs one. They will be available at the start of the vehicle line.
Looking forward to seeing everyone!
