Registered Dental Assistant

Apply to Participate in Butte County ROP's Registered Dental Assistant Program
This program prepares students with the necessary manipulative skills, technical knowledge and experience for entry-level employment as a Registered Dental Assistant.
Through a combination of lecture, laboratory and clinical experience, students will receive skills training in the following: infection control, Dental Practice Act, dental anatomy, dental terminology, dental radiation safety, coronal polish, pit and fissure sealants, dental instrumentation, equipment, and CPR/BLS. Each student will also participate in clinical training through our “community classroom,” which includes instruction in a dental office working side by side with the dentist and dental team members.
Program Objectives
Students successfully completing this program will receive the following certificates:
- Certificate of Competency
- Dental Radiation Safety
- Coronal Polish
- Infection Control
- Dental Practice Act
- Pit and Fissure Sealants
Completers are eligible for the Registered Dental Assistant Examination offered by the Dental Board of California.
Financial Aid
This course is approved for federal financial aid. Please complete a FAFSA application to determine eligibility. ROP's school code is 042205.
Prerequisites
- *Participants must be 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent
- TB clearance and Hepatitis B immunization required
