Odd and Ends
April 4th is the end of the third marking period.
April 5th is a teacher work day - no school.
April 18-22 is spring break.

Language Arts
Word Study skills will target long vowel spelling patterns such as ay, ee, ea, and oa along with vowel diphthong patterns like the sounds for oo, and ou, aw. Ending spelling patterns will be reviewed as well - ck, nd, and sh.
In Writing, we will finish up opinions and then switch to poetry. We will talk about how to use imagery and figurative language to express ideas. Students will gain an understanding of how not all poetry needs to rhyme but does convey meaning.
Math
for ideas on how you can reinforce these skills at home.
As always, continue to practice math facts to increase fluency to help make problem solving fast and efficient.
