Morgan Lilak
"This is my Senior Morgan Lilak. I am very proud of her, to say the least. She will be following in her great grandfathers and several of her great uncles' footsteps as she pursues a doctor of pharmacy degree at Purdue University."
-Adam Lilak
Drew Drake
Drew has worked very diligently in the classroom and has attained several scholarships in order to attend Wabash College this Fall where he will work towards a Physical Therapy/ Sports Medicine Degree. Wabash has also invited him to be a high jumper on their indoor/ outdoor track team!!
His motivation to continue his sports career at the next level has amazed me; however, his heart, quiet fierceness, loyalty, and leadership abilities on and off the field are what make him an awesome young man! We love him dearly and can not wait to cheer on our Wabash Man!! We wish you so much love and success Drew! You deserve it, you’ve worked so very hard!!"

Meridian Beal
"This is our SENIOR, Meridian Jade Beal. She has been a Spartan from the start attending Southwestern from kindergarten through her Senior year, and she has loved every moment. During this time she has grown into a beautiful, smart, and compassionate young lady, that we couldn't be anymore proud of.💕💕 Meridian has participated in as many sports and activities as she possibly could while at SWHS. These include Cheer, Track, Golf, Volleyball, Softball, FCA, Sunshine society, and peer mentoring. She will cherish all of the great times and memories with friends, teachers, staff, and coaches over the years.
As her time at SWHS comes to a close, she is looking towards her future. She will be attending Purdue in the fall, with a major in Pharmacy, as she has been accepted into Pre-pharmacy pursuing a PharmD. BOILER UP BABY!!"
-Phillip and Celeste Beal
Will Doty
All I can say is Will has always been able to melt my heart with his sweet grin, and keep my laughing with silliness. He is an all around great guy. We are so proud of the man he is and love him more then words could ever express!"

"This is our sweet senior, Abigail Marshall. Abby was in varsity tennis, NHS, NTHS, academic team, student council, and sunshine society.
She'll be attending IU Bloomington in the fall to study nursing.
We are incredibly proud of our girl for all her hard work and accomplishments. But most importantly, for her kind and caring heart."

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a free book gifting program that mails high-quality books to children from birth until their 5th birthday regardless of their family’s income. “The single most significant factor influencing a child’s early educational success is an introduction to books and being read to at home prior to beginning school,” states the National Commission on Reading.
Financial Donations made through the Blue River Community Foundation have allowed this wonderful program to be offered in our community! Each month, registered children who live in Southwestern’s school district will receive an age appropriate book in the mail, addressed to them, at no cost to the family. Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library has partnered with the American Printing House for the Blind, Inc. to make many wonderful books in the program available in braille and audio format for children who are blind or visually impaired in order for all children to benefit from these wonderful books.

A Note from the Nurse
New for the 2020 - 2021 school year, ALL students in preschool through 12th grade will be required to have 2 Hepatitis A vaccines. The Hepatitis A vaccination requires 2 shots in order to be considered compliant. These 2 shots must be given no sooner than 6 months apart.
For example, if at student receives the first Hepatitis A vaccination on February 1, 2020 the student cannot get the second vaccination until August 1, 2020 or after. Therefore, it is important that you get this series started as soon as possible.
If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Vise at rvise@swshelby.k12.in.us.
