Fire Safety Month
We enjoyed a special visit with the Powdersville Fire Department on Monday, October 22. Chief Scott brought a really big fire truck with a lot of really neat fire fighting gear. Fireman Eddie put on his fire suit and explained how it protects him when he is fighting fires. He really looked a little scary but we learned why we should look for him if our house is on fire. We also learned to get low and go! It's never a good idea to go back into a burning building, no matter what. At the end of their visit Fireman Eddie climbed the ladder, Chief Scott made the ladder go way up in the air, and then Fireman Eddie turned on the giant hose. WATER went every where. It took less than a minute to use up 500 gallons of water. When we watched the water we all saw a rainbow. How much fun can you have?

Chief Scott talks about fire safety and wearing the right fire fighting attire.
