Principal's Newsletter
From the Desk of Ms. Clark
May 20, 2021
Thank you for your attendance at last night's State of the School Address. We are so proud of our school and its students! Many have asked for the poem that I shared at the end of the meeting. This poem was written by author, Laura Kelly Fanucci, a Minnesota resident, who writes a syndicated column, “Faith at Home,” published in Catholic newspapers nationwide.
"When this is over, may we never again take for granted
- A handshake with a stranger
- Full shelves at the store
- Conversations with neighbors
- A crowded theater
- Friday night out
- The taste of Holy Communion
- A routine checkup
- The school rush each morning
- Coffee with a friend
- The stadium roaring
- Each deep breath
- A boring Tuesday
- Life itself.
When this ends, may we find that we have become more like the people
- We wanted to be
- We were called to be
- We hoped to be
and may we stay that way — better for each other because of the worst."
As we continue to honor Mary during this special month, let us remember the words of Saint Katharine Drexel: “Help me, Mother, to take from the hands of Jesus, in the spirit of humble love, devotion to my daily crosses.”
God's blessings,
Ms. Clark
