A Note from Ms. Davis
Dear Families,
I enjoyed seeing you support your children so much during our year-end celebrations! To watch the kids light up as they made eye contact with you in the audience was priceless. Thank you for the wonderful job you do as parents and as supporters of Athens Elementary School - our teachers and our students! It's been a great year and I am so very blessed to be a part of this fine school.
iAcademy at Athens Elementary is a busy place this summer! We are hosting the ASU Summer Enrichment program for students going in to the 1st - 3rd grades and a Kindergarten Camp for students entering school for the very first time. In addition, many teachers are changing classrooms so that second grade can take over the rooms on the gym hallway that 4th grade vacated. Eagle's Nest Pre-K will also move into the main building and our afterschool program, Latchkey, will move into their rooms on the south hallway.
We are also building our special computer science maker space, Innovation Station. Look along the walls in our hallways and see how Mrs. Hooper and Mrs. Wiseheart painted fun robots among the existing artwork.
In this edition of the newsletter, you'll see lots of pictures from the last few weeks of school. Read below to see our tribute to those teachers leaving AES. We are going to miss them! News about registration and the supply list is also below.
As a Title 1 school, we need your feedback! Please look for the survey below to help us know how to serve you and meet your family's needs.
Don't forget to read with your kids! It is so important for them to read aloud to you and to see you reading!
I hope you are enjoying a wonderful summer and the break from school. If I can assist you in any way, please do not hesitate to call or come by.
Sincerely,
Cindy Davis,
Principal
