Namib Desert

The oldest Desert in the world. It lies along southern Africa's west coast. The Desert has some of the highest sand dunes in the world.

Cape of Good Hope

A peninsula in south Africa. Portuguese Explorer Bartholomeu Dias named it The Cape of good Hope because He thought it was a sea route to India.


Johannesburg is the largest city in South Africa. One of the World's highest cities. The highest point is about 6000 feet above sea level.

Zambezi River

The Zambezi River Is the fourth longest river in Africa. It Is about 1700 miles long (2736 kilometers). River starts in Zambia and ends in the Indian ocean.

Limpopo River

The river is about 1000 miles long, and is in southeastern Africa. Also called the Crocodile river. The last 60 miles of the river are tide water.


Lusaka is the largest and the capital city of Zambia.
