Distance Learning the Tiger Way
Teacher Appreciation Week
Teacher Appreciation Week will be celebrated from Monday, May 4th through Friday, May 8th. Thank you to all of our Titus Teachers who go above and beyond for their students on a daily basis, but who have really shown what #TitusPride and #TitusStrong means during this time. We appreciate all that you do and we thank you for your hard work, dedication, resilience and compassion.
Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!
Student Placement 2020-2021
Dear Titus Families,
Even though our school building is closed, we are still working hard to get ready for next year.
Over the next month or two, we will begin the process of assigning students to an appropriate class for next year. In putting together the classes, we will take into consideration many factors: girl/boy ratio, academic ability, behavioral characteristics, talents, personalities, emotional needs and learning styles. Our goal is to ensure that each child is in a class that has an appropriate balance of students with the proper teacher. We assess each child's individual needs based upon input from the present classroom teacher, student support counselor, reading specialist, and principal.
Class placement is made after reviewing a considerable amount of data. If you feel that we would benefit from additional information, you are welcome to send an email directly to me at bpustay@cbsd.org by May 8th. Consider describing a classroom environment that would be beneficial to your son/daughter. In addition, share any information regarding academic, social or emotional information that you would like us to consider. You should not name a specific teacher. District staffing is not complete until June and teaching assignments may change. Please use this opportunity to speak to your child's strengths and needs. Please note: requests for specific teachers will not be considered.
We want what is best for your child and that involves them having a wide variety of educational experiences. You are not required to send an email; however I welcome your input. Emails sent after May 8th will not be considered.
Thank you for beginning this important process with us.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Bridget M Pustay
Titus Elementary Principal

Virtual Paws for PRIDE
Hello, Titus Families! I hope this week’s Tiger Times finds you all well. You may have noticed that your children may be receiving virtual paws for PRIDE! Well, now we will be picking real winners each week! One winner will be announced from a random drawing from each grade level. Then from that list of 7 winners, one “grand winner” will be announced every single week. We will also have one staff winner each week. Please encourage your children to keep up the good work - sign on; join their class meetings; submit assignments; spread some virtual cheer to classmates; do something kind in your neighborhood. Whatever it is, we want to recognize them for it!
As these days of distance learning continue on, please know that many of our staff are working the balancing act of home and school as well. These weeks have been challenging - each household has its own challenges, some similar to yours and some different from yours. Take one day, one moment at a time. Things will not be perfect for any of us, and no one is expecting it to be. Celebrate the little wins in your day.
Enjoy the sunshine this weekend!

Lunch Distribution
Titus Elementary is a site for lunch distribution every Monday and Thursday from 10:30am to 12:30pm. Lunches will be distributed from the Titus Bus Loop. Please pull into the bus loop, pop your trunk, and then pull up to the bus lobby doors. Mr. and Mrs. Pustay will place the lunches directly into your trunk. You can then pull forward to close your trunk if it does not close on its own.
Please remember that lunches are available for ALL children in the Central Bucks School District. We are happy to add some breakfast options as well during lunch distribution.
Farmer's Market at Barclay
CBSD Farmer's Market at Barclay food distribution event will take place every Wednesday at 4pm. Open to all CBSD families in need of a little extra food support. The event will continue until resources are fully distributed. Lost of milk, eggs, veggies, canned goods, and bread available.
Barclay Elementary School is located at 2015 Palomino Drive in Warrington. All traffic must turn right off of Palomino. Participants are asked to please not block area residents' driveways when approaching the pick up event.
Help Support CBSD Farmer's Market and Partners
Help us share food with families and children throughout the Central Bucks School District during this crisis! Click HERE to support our Go Fund Me.
The CBSD Farmers Market at Barclay was started a year ago by a small group of principals and teachers, collectively known as The Friends of John Barclay, with a mission to address food insecurity for children in the Central Bucks School District. Through the generosity of local organizations, including Bucks County Opportunities Council (BCOC), Philabundance, and Rolling Harvest, we distributed thousands of pounds of fresh produce to families and children at our monthly markets.
A week after the start of the COVID-19 crisis, we were able to quickly expand our operation, and we now distribute food every week on Wednesdays at 4:00 at Barclay Elementary School. Last week, we shared milk, eggs, fresh produce, and dry goods with over 200 families throughout the district. Unfortunately, this number has been increasing each week. We believe that in a community as well resourced as ours, no child should ever be hungry. We also believe that at some point in time, we all might need a little extra support, and we should feel confident in the compassion and empathy of our friends and neighbors.
Eighty percent of the funds we raise will go directly to CBSD families and children in the form of weekly food support. While we receive many donations, we have built relationships with wholesalers who are able to offer excellent prices on bulk purchases of perishable and non-perishable groceries that we don't receive from outside organizations. We have no overhead or administrative costs, as our efforts are completely volunteer supported. The other twenty percent of the money we raise will be donated to the three organizations above--BCOC, Philabundance, and Rolling Harvest. To give you a sense of their generosity, we received nearly 5,000 pounds of food donations from them just last week. Without their kindness and support, none of our efforts would be possible.
The Friends of John Barclay, and our small group of employee volunteers, are very grateful for even the smallest donations. Please consider supporting families and children throughout the district who need a little help during this difficult time. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
CBSD Building Facilities and Grounds
Under Governor Wolf's directive, all schools in Pennsylvania are closed until further notice. This closure includes all stadiums, athletic facilities, playgrounds, and parking lots. Our facilities and grounds will remain closed and secured during the governor's stay at home order. Our local police would like to remind us that everyone needs to stay off school properties during this school closure.
Thank you!
