Signs & symptoms
People with schizophrenia signs and symptoms are hallucinations, delusions and extremely disordered and thinking. Psychiatrists have noticed five different types of schizophrenia,
Paranoid schizophrenia: people diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia suffer from delusion and hallucinations tend to think that they are somewhere different from where they really are and might think someone (like a doctor) is going to harm them
Disorganized Schizophrenia: They might have disorganized patterns of speech, thought, or behavior and might even act silly or withdraw from the world around them.
catatonic schizophrenia: it is characterized as abnormal types of posture and movement a person might stand or walk in weird awkward ways.
Residual Schizophrenia: When doctors don’t actually know but a person might have had one short episode of the above types but not enough to say they are schizophrenic.
Undifferentiated schizophrenia for a person who shows some symptoms of schizophrenia but not enough to categorize them.
Prognosis for schizophrenia is affected by the age of a person when schizophrenia is developed, the earlier the condition appears the more permanent the damage is likely to be, if you develop schizophrenia at a young age it will be hard for you to fit in and by the time you are 25-30 it will have done serious damage to you body and brain. Also it can affect people of any age, race, sex, social class, level of education, or ethnic background. More men are affected by schizophrenia than women. But usually appears in late teen to early twenties.
Why I choose this topic
I chose this topic because i had liked the word and as a project for disease it seemed to be interesting i had learned that people with schizophrenia have a hard time in life but some can get jobs but will still require some type of help throughout their day. schizophrenia is a hard disorder to deal with but there are ways to deal with it and medication that can help but can’t cure it completely.
