West Briar MS School Updates: Week 10
Principal's Message
Special thanks to everyone who has shared their gratitude with me through wonderful student letters, treats, and surprises each day last week as I was honored through #ThankAnHISDPrincipal Month. West Briar's hallways were filled with excitement and fun during last week's two dress-up days for the Astros #OrangeoutWestBriar and Friday's Pink Out Day. This last week of October is National Red Ribbon Week: students can dress up according to each themed day to support the mission of staying Drug-Free!
Cycle 3 Progress Reports went out on Friday, but if your student did not receive theirs- they should check with their 6th period teacher. (However, since Progress Reports are a snapshot in time- to see the most accurate and up-to-date grades and assignments- check out the Power School app or HISD Connect Parent/Student Account.)
Let's make it a great Red-Ribbon week at West Briar!

Say Something- Anonymous Reporting System
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Sandy Hook- Say Something Anonymous Reporting System (SS-ARS) is a free program that teaches middle and high school youth (and the adults around them) how to recognize warning signs and signals, especially within social media, from individuals who may be a threat to themselves or others. This program emphasizes that students should Say Something to a trusted adult or use the Say Something anonymous reporting system.
The SS-ARS program logo & button below shows the three methods students can submit an anonymous report.
