Gallatin High Update
Student Update - May/June 2020
General Overview
Construction Update
Landscaping is going in around campus and final coats of paint will be painted in the parking lots soon. Inside tiling is happening in B-wing and the locker rooms and cabinetry is being installed in the concession stand and coffee kiosk. Carpet will go down in the auditorium and rubber flooring in the weight room in the next week or two. Right now it looks like we will gain occupancy right after the 4th of July.
This fall we plan to put a time capsule into the wall under the stairs in the Commons. If you have any ideas for what could be included in that time capsule, be sure on the lookout for a survey in your email where you can submit ideas.
School Culture
- The class of 2022 will be the first graduating class from Gallatin High.
- The class of 2023 will be the last class to have attended both BHS and GHS.
- The class of 2024 will be the first class to spend all four years at Gallatin High School.
Over the summer, be thinking about the traditions we want to create and how Gallatin High will leave a lasting legacy in the Bozeman community.
Athletics and Activities
We know many students are interested in carrying on Bozeman High's tradition of offering a wide range of clubs and activities for students. If you are interested in starting to establish a new club or want to start a Gallatin High chapter of a club that existed at Bozeman High, please reach out to Ms. Schnee in the survey that is coming soon so we can connect you with potential faculty sponsors.
Additionally, if you are interested in band, orchestra or choir and have not yet met our new music teachers, please reach out to:
Jeffrey Ruffcorn, Band Director - jeffrey.ruffcorn@bsd7.org
Michelle Maurer, Choir Director - michelle.maurer@bsd7.org
Mike Certalic, Orchestra Director - michael.certalic@bsd7.org
Student Council
Any offices that are not filled this spring, including all freshman officers, will be elected in the fall. If you are interested in student council, there is still time to get involved!
Student Body President - Luke Terry
Student Body Vice-President - Tyler Nansel
Student Body Secretary - elected fall 2020

Your Voice Matters
Please take a few moments to complete the survey in your email. We need your input as we prepare to open this fall.
As soon as the building is turned over the School District, the first week of July, we plan to provide tours for students, parents, and the community. These tours will follow current social distancing guidelines and information will be forthcoming at the end of June.
Back to School
Before school starts, we will be in communication with students and parents about bus routes, parent drop off locations, parking, lockers, and more. Be on the lookout for communication in early August with everything you need to know before school starts.
Covid-19
The Bozeman School District is working with state and local agencies to create options regarding what school might look like this fall. It is too soon to say at this point as we know things have changed quickly over the past three months. We anticipate updated information as the summer progresses. Superintendent Connors will be in communication as we get closer to the start of school, and I will follow up with any Gallatin High specifics as decisions are made.
